Dragon Ball Evolution: Good or Bad?

This thread will not end well. It's all about someone's opinion, and most people don't know how to respect someone else's opinions.

Ah you see, this topic is rather interesting. There are three types of people in this world: Those who never saw the anime, those who saw it and think that the movie is going to be awesome, and those who saw the anime and are up in arms about this movie. Sadly, the first two groups of people that I have listed don't exist on the internet. Therefore there is only one opinion that everyone can agree one.
This has been a public safety announcement.

The movie will really be horrible, and I will watch it as if at a funeral.

Personally, I'm expecting a Street Fighter-caliber movie - kinda crappy, mangles the original mythos, but should probably be a little amusing at least.

I mean, god's sake, look at that guy's hair! I wake up in the morning with better-looking hair than that! And they're gonna have that throughout the entire film? That's gotta be worth a few chuckles at least.

Congratulations! You're part of the problem.

Don't go and see films to "laugh at how bad it is". The only people laughing are the film-makers after they counted how much money they made out of you and that they couldn't give 2 fucks if you slated it on some forum.

i haven't seen the anime/manga or played much of any of the games so, to me, it will just be another action film. most who see it will say it's shit because it doesn't stay entirely true to the franchise but i won't have that problem and i'll be judging it by it's own merit as a film rather than a ???? to film crossover.

Just to play devil's advocate, what would be the point of making it just like the anime? Then you could just watch the anime and save 10 bucks (though live action has the benefit of not being "cartoons" for all those mouth breathers keeping the animation age grotto alive)

This movie looks like a huge joke. I mean there's nothing re-deeming or good in it. WHoever thought of hiring the emo kid from War of the Worlds was a great idea, should have been kicked out of the agency bisnuess, this guy is just terrible. When I watched War of the Worlds, Iw as just BEGGING for him to get vapoorized by aliens

When i first saw the trailer my response was appropriate.

"Dear God, What have they done? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!?"

no, they've taken and a franchise and, rather than make an awful cosplay, they've kept the martial arts, the over poweredness and made it marketable
they've done evrything they shouldve done for a film version, stop looking at it as a literal translation of the anime and more as a film inspired by the anime

Actually, from what I've read, (see review) the costumes are worse then cosplay, the martial arts are horribly bland, and even accepting that, are quite bad in their own right. People who have never heard of dragonball will walk away wondering why they wasted their money on such a turd of a movie, fans will wonder why such a famous franchise was basterdized so much, and it will satisfy nobody.
