again, it's not a DBZ movie, but that being said, it seems to bear no semblance to the original DB either.

Looks like the DBZ movie is suffering from "Wanted" syndrome. The writer/director heard of DBZ/DB and said "This gives me an idea, if we remove 90% of the story we can make a really cool film. Someone get Uwe Boll on the phone..."

I am by no means a DBZ fanboy, in fact I haven't even seen many of the episodes.
But by god, this is a travesty. What is the opinion of the escapist community on this movie?

When I first saw Goku, or maybe it was an interpretation of another character from the series, I thought that it was the asian Shia Labeuf.

But seriously, there's just no chance for this movie to be any good.

Doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable for all the wrong reasons, though...

EDIT: I just saw a clip of the movie on the site, and I don't know anymore. I have mixed feelings about it, may not be that bad. Now this is a minute long clip that's just an interview with Dr. Light with Wily in the background making faces, but if that's the way Wily actually acts throughout the movie, it may not be that bad. He looks like a detective out of a cop drama, but the way he talks and acts is kinda funny.

Would that make it suck any less? Imagine the number of fond childhood memories this monstrosity can possibly unleash.

EDIT:
Part of Dragon Ball's charm is knowing it's not realistic. If you want a "realistic" take on Dragon Ball, make a Hollywood adaptation of Saiyuki.
