Dreadlocks, yey or nay?

They look good on some people, but not others. People thinking you have to be Jamaican are stupid, they didn't invent dreadlocks they just incorporated them into Rastafarian culture and religion and popularized them a lot more.

They're tough to properly form sometimes, but they can be basically just as clean as any other hair style. As someone else said they actually work better if you keep them clean.

So try them out if you want, if it doesn't suit you, cut them off.

Oh gross, don't do it man. Dreads are groaty, period. Also, this is just me, but they remind me of the little Chef Boyardee Ravioli noodles. The thought of nasty-pasta-hair makes my stomach churn a little. However, this is just my opinion.

as someone who has only ever seen patchouli oil vegan hippies with them I'd have to say try it out, but not too chunky if that makes sense. Personally I think they look like shit, but it's almost okay when they look tended to.

The thing about Dreadlocks is, you need to not wash your hair for months to help them develop naturally, so the process is stinky.

Besides that, as long as you keep them clean and smell-free, I don't mind them. It's just a hair-style for fucks sake. (not that I would ever get them...)

not neccesarily true, you can use wax and styling to do them, plus they actually dread better when clean, its also important to clean them regularly or they end up falling apart

I'm opposed to most things done to the bod that can't be undone, and as I understand it dreadlocks are in there for good. If you decide you don't like them, you're going to cut off all your hair and grow it back from scratch.

some people pull dreadlocks, others can't. It tends to look better on dark hair though. I say go for it, if you don't like it then just cut it.
