Cynical is more what I'm being.
If I recall correctly serenity kept flying without half her parts, and those she did have were hardly top of the line expensive alliance certified, whereas the (prettier) one-77 would cost in the thousands for even the most basic of parts (I think the tires are each custom made, so even a set of tires is outside of my current budget, much less my ongoing upkeep).

She flew just fine, even if stuff did keep falling off.

Besides, my old computer was held together by a whole bunch of half-measures and some bubble gum, and it worked just fine.

My current computer is held together by love. Honestly, it's getting ridiculas, I should buy a case sometime soon, and maybe attach the cpu heatsync..

Annnyways, as long as it's functional, everybody wins.

But this is what I want to actually build and own:

Take a car (preferably a really cheap one), then take out all the internal furniture except the drivers seat and use the extra space to install a bigger, more powerful engine.
Then, remove all unnecessary devices/random stuff, and as much of the chassis as is legally possible.
In essence, rip away at your car until you leave nothing but a skeleton of steel, the wind in your hair and a hell of a lot of speed!

Yeah but somehow he managed to post a picture of the Beliskner and the O'neil together. As far as I am aware that scene didn't occur in any of the Stargate espisodes since the Beliskner was destroyed before the O'neil was constructed. I am also surprised you'd chose the Beliskner when the O'neil was a better looking more advanced ship.
