Dreams, Nightmares and You

Hello Escapists.

This thread will be about odd dreams and nightmares. It's been gnawing a bit on my mind and I'm interested how this goes for other people. I don't usually dream anymore or rather, I don't usually remember my dreams anymore. But on occassion, I'll experience a nightmare or a really odd dream and wake up in the middle of the night.

I think it mostly goes without saying that as a kid I often remembered my dreams with some more clarity. I'll guess that goes for a lot of people, but not perhaps everyone. I had a long series of nightmares regarding Pennywise the clown as a little kid. I always almost fully remembered those dreams, scary bastard, that clown. Eventually I outgrew that, of course and while this thread is techniqually not focused on childhood dreams and nightmares, you are very free to share them.

Eitherway, what I'm interested in hearing is what dreams and nightmares have gotten to you as an adult or teenager. I had one just two days ago which I'll share, but it was rather simple really. I hadn't cleaned our home in a while and especially my bedroom was particularly filthy/dusty. This normally doesn't bother me. But then suddenly, in the middle of night, I get the feeling my bed is covered in maggots, I wake up with this feeling stuck in my head, and dart out of my bed to turn on the lights, glaring at it in a haze. I don't remember the details of the dream itself, but that lingering feeling really got to me.

So, have you had any odd dreams or nightmares you'd like to share?

Just last night I dreamed I was at an outside party, with lots of cupcakes,
but then it started raining and all the cupcakes got soggy.

I still don't know why,
considering my life has had absolutely nothing to do with parties or cupcakes lately.

I used to have this wierd recurring nightmare where I would get attacked by the Vampires from 30 days of Night. They would just randomly enter my dreams and they would always be very intense and scary but also totally random and unpredictable.

I only have the one recurring nightmare.

I'm lying in bed. I open my eyes and look up. There's a girl standing over me. Sometimes its someone I know and other times I can't make out the details but I know its always a girl. I'm about to say something but before I can get the words out she stabs me in the heart with a spear in a way that doesn't seem like murder. Its as if I'm being put down like a horse that's too old for its own good.

I get this dream every few years for a few days, it's a dream about my old dog dying and I wake up crying every time.
Mostly I get it when I'm feeling depressed so I guess I've just associated it with feeling bad.
These days I don't remember my dreams to often but when I do they're even weirder that when I was little.

The last dream I had where I can remember the most about was when everyone in the same year as me in school were inside a big boat, killing each other. No, not with guns etc, but with our fists and things that so happened to be on the ship like metal pipes. The room was pretty big, like a hall but without the huge overhead space. When I was exhausted there was five of us left, but the others were random people, only two of them were my friends. All of us just stopped and made our way to the outside deck of the ship, noticed the ship was heading for a wrecked version of London with burning buildings.

The End. I woke up. Fuck.

I have weird dreams almost every night. I have had reoccurring dreams in the past, but most of them have faded away. The one reoccurring dream I believe I still get always involves me somehow breaking or loosing some teeth. My girlfriend thinks I probably have some kind of tooth-loosing phobia or something.

I had a weird ass dream last night where I was Batman and Bane saved my life. A bunch of weird shit happened and eventually I did "the right thing" (I guess) and I took the pain away from him and took the burden of his pain myself. Fucking weird shit. Also, Catwoman was topless at some point. No idea why.

there was this one dream...


i was riding on a tricycle, while being chased by a black guy,also on a tricycle, with an AK-47(he looked like an african guerrilla), and this chase was going at highway speeds in a shopping area. finally i flew of this tricycle, and landed on a hilly grassy plane, laying there on my back unable to move, hoping that the guerrilla won't find me, but he did and shot me in the head, upon which i woke up.

I only usually remember the very worst nightmares and besides that, nothing. Although the other night was one exception. I spent most of the late morning in a sort of lucid dreaming state and for some reason I was in a Game of Thrones-ish universe and I slapped the Queen. And there were rolling hay bales for some reason. And I stole some pizza. No idea why.

I tend to have pretty weird dreams, when I do actually remember them which is rare.

I had a recurring dream for about 3 months where I'd be laid, staring out of my own eyes at the sky. Blue sky, clouds, etc. And that'd be it. 'Cept the dreams ended recently and in the last one there was a red crack in the sky and it slowly opened and bled across the sky like red wine on carpet.

Oh and one time I dreamt I was at university (I'm not even close to going yet though) and I made a big vat of chilli con carne and went around giving it all to my friends. Dream-me is fucking lovely, I'd never do that in real life.

I used to have a dream quite often, where my father would be pulling me through a large crowed by the hand. I had my other hand over my mouth, with blood dripping everywhere and my teeth kept falling out, one by one. It was too loud and too hard to yell enough to get my dad's attention, so he never helped me.

The dreams eventually changed to entire pieces of my body falling off ;-;

Holy hell. Yeah, mine never got that intense. It was usually between one and five teeth falling out in my hand. Sometimes they would just get chipped or something.

i dream alot and remember most of them most of them have to do with games i have been playing or books i have been reading both of which i do alot

i have a dream alot about runing in a wood not away from anything but towards something that thing changes from time to time sometimes its food or home

Spoiler: Infection

Once I dreamed I was in kindergarten, and it was during a heavy snow fall. While at the window, the teacher asked me an d another girl to go do something I didn't want to do. I told him that I had done it, but he pointed me to a large cube of ice outside he wanted gone.

So he sent me and this girl out there. We crawled on our bellies to get there, as it was on top of a frozen body of water, and when we got there, we started to rip chunks of ice off of it. I started to find red chunks, and collected them. Then I stole them from her, and started to rub them against myself, fighting her for them.

They melted into something like jelly, and I coated myself in them. I became a naked, genderless, eyeless, pink skinned monster, more or less like the Pale Man.

Then I went home and started to turn people into monsters like me. I turned back to normal when my dad asked me to take in the groceries. Can't be rude.

I eventually had about eleven people infected and dancing, with the exception of this one guy who had fused with the stairs.

It ended with this one kid coming in, and crying and whimpering and screaming and begging and us turning him into one of us. He said "Aw hell", and we told him he was already in hell. Good times.

Spoiler: Rapture Dining and Boardwalk.

I dreamed my sister, mother, father, grandmother and I went to a seaside meuseum. We were having a good time, my sister and I playing with suspended jellyfish corpses. Then we exited, and went to a boardwalk. It was really tight, with one lane for traffic, and was flanked by mostly food and dining stores.

We eventually managed to ascend an underwater tower from our position above the sea level, figure that one out, and made our way to the top floor, where we had dinner with the tower's hostess. The bathroom broke off and floated to the surface only to return when I finished using it, as was supposedly the idea. The tower looked like something out of Rapture:

Those are just two interesting ones. I just had one last night about flight, ponies, Jason Vorhees, and clouds. Dreams are fun.

I just had a random dream last night that I was stan smith and I was inside the baggage area inside of a plane and had to be on another plane in a few minutes. The flight was for some reason delayed for me, and everyone groaned angrily, and the only reason I was stuck there was because I was looking through the unwatched snack counter that apparently exists in all planes where the luggage stays during flight and was torn on whether or not to get 1 or 2 boxes of sour patch kids. I wasn't sure if I had enough money and was about to walk off with both since no one was watching, but in the end, I managed to dig up 4 quarters and with the dollar I already had, was able to pay for them both and walked off. Then I warped onto the back of the plane I was catching and exclaimed I was here, the they took off and I then proceeded to teleport again right next to the rest of the... nevermind, that's the end and it's not getting easier to describe or make sense of..

i once had a dream where i was in an evil scientist laboritory and bambi was running across the ceiling. Then my brother appeared dressed as a boxer with an afro and punched a giant robot the evil scientist made knocking it out. Can't remember anyothers too clearly. I had one where i was outse my house talking to this girl from school, then i kissed her, she said she didn't want to be boyfriend girlfriend and i said okay and something else (can't remember) and she and her friend gets angry. And we we're sitting round a huge pile of orange and purple smarties. plus before that i had a fight with a guy i have no problem with from school and we we're rolling around in the road but we had to roll back to the pavement cause there was a silver mercedes trying to get passed while another guy from school was looking stoned red eyes and all. I managed to push the guy off and i think thats how i won/aquired the sweets then i kissed the girl. Funny thing is i didn't have a crush on the girl in my dream at school and everyone else there we're friends of friends at most. Can't remember any others and i've spent ages blocking out the nightmares so i couldn't give you any info on those. apart from that i had a dream once where i got up ad did my daily routine only to wake up and realise i was still in bed wearing my pajamas.

I once had a nightmare, or it could have been a dream, as while there where indeed horrible monstrosities and alien surroundings I was in no danger, nor even a part of it. In some strange place where the sky was a formless amalgamation of red and blue, the ground was formed up of these red and blue geometric shapes. There were a group of people (nobody of whom I recognized) stuck there for some reason. One of the group ran down some tunnel, which promptly turned a sickly green color and then ate said person. It then formed a werid worm-like creature with a huge eye and the creature then collapsed into its own eye, which exploded into a tsunami of highly caustic acid. All of them died save one, who became horribly disfigured and lost his legs. The setting had changed to a perfectly normal room save for a pile of random furniture. As the man tried to claw himself away, Strange spider animals jumped him from the furniture and killed him as he cried for mercy and then a spider creature took over his body. And then I woke up, thinking that the dream was odd.

I was sitting on a park bench, on a piece of land that was floating in mid air, using a butter knife to spread peanut butter on some crackers in the rain. What I find weird was that my movements(spreading the P.B. and such) were completely monotonous, I just kept doing said actions in the exact same way every single time( grabbing a cracker with 3 fingers and a downward spread with the knife, grabbing a cracker with 3 fingers and a downward spread with the knife, grabbing a cracker with 3 fingers and a downward spread with the knife.)
