So tonight I was thrown out of a club for the first time because I apparently wasn?t following the dress code. I was wearing a NY baseball cap and the bouncers were really strict about it. Even though there were some other people with hats too. So fellow escapist: was you ever thrown out of a club for not following the dress code and did you feel it was justified?

They just say that because you look suspicious or something.

It's all a conspiracy.

I don't feel they conspired against me... it just feels so stupid and ignorant to judge someone because he is wearing a piece of clothing. If I was actually misbehaving I could understand, but I was just enjoying myself with some friends.

If you came into my club wearing a baseball cap I would have had you thrown out too. Certain clubs like to keep an elitist image.

I've never been thrown out because I always dress up nice. No sneakers, no jeans, no shorts, and no t-shirts or hats. Just follow that, and you should be all set.

Some places allow a fancy hat, though. Maybe a top hat.

Sadly this club cant even claim to have a tiny bit of an elitist image..

Haha many times.

Mostly because I keep trying to get into this place called "Cloudland" in Brisbane. Its looks fucking fancy (but apart from that, its kinda shit.. $9 for basic spirits? Noo thank you) and the dress code is intense, pretty much anything under a suit jacket, dress pants and leather shoes wont get you in. It's almost become a running joke to try to get into this place.

Most of the times I or my friends have not been let into clubs is because of our shoes. Cons and Skate shoes don't get your very far.

I completly understand the dress code thing though, they want people to look nice in their clubs so there image is better. If I walked into a place and saw everyone in wife beaters and thongs (flip flops) I would leave really fast.

Why would you wear a hat in a club anyway? Actually, hats are fine but a cap? I would of throw you out as well.

Was it the Mets or the Yankees? If it was the Yankees, good, you deserve it for liking them. If it was the Mets, then I am thoroughly confused.

Back on topic, no, I have never been thrown out of a club. I may have thrown myself out once, because I find clubs to be extremely boring.

Oh, pfff... The only thing you need at a club is a pair of sunglasses, so you can look like a proper douche.

Though, on a more serious note, I'd rather be caught dead than being found at one of those places, so I wouldn't know.

Yeah I know, but this time I really wasn't planning on going out but still was wearing a cap because I liked it. The weird thing was that other people were wearing hats, but they didn't got the same treatment I did. I guess they got fancier caps/hats.
