With the exception of one clearly unbalanced girl (dealing didn't help, but her problems were clearly significantly deeper and her main problem-drug was alcohol, not anything she was selling), every drug dealer I've ever known has been normal, sane, intelligent, and friendly. And I don't mean used-car-salesman friendly - I mean friendly friendly.
It can obviously cause some big problems for people and there are certainly unethical people and unfortunate situations that essentially lead people to become dealers against their will, but it's not some inherently evil profession.
