still it's luxury, a common one wich is accepted by all of us even though it's unhealthy and causes lots of dead.jeretik said:We're not on the same level here. Speak on the topic when you move from your parents' house/flat. Also, public transportation is still - cars.
As for the drugs, they are bad for health of those who take them and people around them. That's a fact. You don't solve a problem by encouraging it's use.
Personally, I'm discuraged to see this percentage of young people who consider themselves intelligent taking and defending light drugs.
I am well aware that traveling can be eased by driving a car but people don't need really them. Just makes life a heck more easier.
I'm just trying to say that in life there are many unhealthy things we do and eat, drink or whatever without us being aware of it.
When one is aware of the consequences of cannabis and still decides to use it's cleary the persons own choice.
And I don't understand that in a country like the USA people are able to buy guns, keep them in their house(and not always a safe place) for others to find them and use them.
But still there is no ban on guns. And more people get killed by (accidental) gun fire than smoking cannabis.
Like I said I never claimed smoking cannabis isn't unhealthy I will never claim it's without risk to use it.
But people should be more aware of ít's effect instead of just shunning people who use it.
If there's a little bit more understanding that most people who smoke weed are just people like you. Not all users smoke 24/7.
There is a difference between use and abuse.
I'm not asking anyone to go and try to use drugs I just wanted to say that it's better to look at the workings and let people decide for themself.
And I know not everyone is capable of making their own choices but a drug dealer will sell to anyone but a official drug suplier can be forced (by gouvernment law) to look at the customers mental state, age and health and not sell people who are at risk smoking weed or underage.
Here in the Netherland there are little to problem with cannabis use because of it's regulated and controlled sale.
If people can smoke tabaco and drink alcohol then why should cannabis be banned it's by no means more unhealthy or addictive than those other two.
Some people like to do extreme sports to that can be hazardous for your health and they too do it just for kicks. But I don't see you bashing on them for being reckless and stupid with no value for their own lives just to obtain some adrenaline rush.
I also believe perscription drugs should be looked at knowing that most of them are highly addictive and make people much more dependent on them but still are perscriped to people of all ages.
P.S. I by no means feel intelligent because I take drugs.
I feel intelligent because I can make my own decisions even if it turns out not the best one but I will deal with the consequences when needed.
I respect your choice of not smoking and you shouldn't if you don't want to. but you are not in any position to judge all those people who didn't made the same choice as you did.
