DS game suggestions

Yes I realize that dozens of these threads are made every hour but I'll ask anyway.

I just got a DSlite and I'm wondering what games I should get. I've never really played any handheld games except for Pokemon so I'm totally open to any suggestion.

Easily one of the best games on the DS, and personally one of my favorite games of all time. It's got great characters, story, art, music, as well as challenging and interesting gameplay, all combined together into a fantastic and fresh package.

Cant go wrong with Advance wars either, if you like turn based strategy

OR final fantasy 12 renevant wings for a real time strategy

Mario 64/ new super mario bros for platformers

I would also reccomend worms open warfare 2.

Dragon Quest IV, V, VI, or IX. They're all incredibly charming and interesting games.

I'd also suggest The World Ends With You, but?yeah.

The Zelda games if you can get over the really bad travelling (makes you appreciate wind waker surfing), and Wario Ware Touched because it is awesome. Pokemon, too.

There are probably more (like castlevania), but I haven't had the opportunity to play many.
