It's like the next big thing, but, it seems that nobody talks about it, but everybody around me listens to it.

What's your take on this new genre??

Not so much new...

I like good dub. I still prefer hardstyle to dub though. But really, what is there to talk about?

Dunno, suggestions on albums/singles or songs in particular?

It's pretty good. Skrillex being the apex for me. Loving the song he did with Korn that just came out.

Well I've said it before on threads like this, but I think its really just like any other genre. It has its good artists; Burial, Kode9, Roots Manuva, Emika, etc. and its bad artists whose names I don't know. Right now the ratio of good artists to bad is oddly rather equal, but I suspect its increasing popularity will increase the number of bad artists.

Not really. A lot of Dubstep irritates the fuck out of me as it's the only thing anyone ever plays around here. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't always the heavy, pumping, autotuned shite. I'm fine with heavy rave music but the shit they play is fucking taccy. My brother introduced me to light Dubstep though and it's pretty cool. Like so I'm fucking loving Magnetic Man right now.

I will say about it, here, exactly what I said to my roommate:
Dubstep is doing a bunch of MDMA and then exploding the Lincoln Memorial out of your abs.

I love myself a bit of Dub, however i can at least understand why some people don't like it.

Most of the stuff is incredibly repetitive, and dull.

However, if you listen to dub with a open mind, you can find some incredibly complex, and fantastic tunes all waiting for you to discover.

I really don't get it. I've got friends who listen to nothing but dubstep and friends who are proper metalheads but also love dubstep. Me? I don't get it! It just sounds like drum & bass slowed down a lot. I like drum & bass, you can dance to it and be creative with it, but dubstep just sounds like a bass line... wobbling. That's the best way to describe it, it sounds like wobbling

I can't say I like it. It just sounds like repetative machines griniding out noises to me. Not my thing.

I like the part where it goes, *WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP*

In all seriousness, I don't really like it and it probably will not be around that long anyway.

I like UK Dubstep. Especially Ephixia's remixes of Example songs. There's some good stuff from Dot Rotten.

And a side note for Borgore, just for comedy value.

Can't you say the same of any genre of music?

OT: Yeah, I was introduced to dubstep by a friend of mine. Makes for some really awesome work-out music too. My personal favorite is this dubstep remix of Still Alive (the Mirror's Edge one)

I thought that song was pretty damn cool, I'm excited to hear the rest of the song when it comes out.

OT: It's okay, I have to be in the mood to listen to it though. But when I do listen to it, half the stuff I'm hearing isn't bad. I guess part of my problem is that I don't know many of the artists and I just know some songs.
