I have mixed feelings regarding some of the material revealed, but the official political responses really do reveal the nature of various nations' governments & main political parties.

To illustrate this I cite US politician Senator King, who wants Assange to be tried for terrorism (despite Assange & WikiLeaks failing to fall under even the US' butchered definition of the word), & once politician Sarah Palin, who wants Assange tried for treason (what planet is she from to think that Australia is part of the US?). Closely following on the US' heels in the idiocy stakes are Sweden & Great Britain for their current, & shamefully unjust yet supposedly legal persecution of Assange. It just goes to show that if enough countries conspire they can make a mockery of the law, & simultaneously make themselves look like despicable cunts.

However, the people who are leaking these documents to wikileaks need to be tried for treason.
Did they do it to undermine their nation, or out of their passion for it's improvement?
The gay guy did it to undermine his nation. He enlisted specifically to stir shit up. He didn't accidentally stumble upon something he found unconscionable, which he felt he had the duty to share with the world, he went there with specific intent to try to screw with the army because of "don't ask don't tell."
Do you have any proof of this whatsoever? Because the only time I've heard the guy's sexuality called into question was one "christian coalition" sending out a panic email over the repeal of DADT. In fact, what you're saying sounds almost exactly like the email in question...
