Considering it has been 10 years of waiting for MANY people, if this game doesn't redefine at least 2 genres, become game of the year, have more then 40 hours of game play, have the most immersive plot of any game so far, be emotionally touching and being insanely enjoyable and fun to play.... I think a lot of people will be disappointed.

Oh well, at least Gearbox have a sense of humor about the whole thing. I don't have it pre-ordered, so it just means I have to wait a bit longer for reviews.

Granted this is a clever attempt to lessen the blow..
Granted I don't mind waiting a little longer for a game that I'm particularly looking forward to..
Granted developers hit snags now and then and delays are to be expected..
But these guys have had TWELVE YEARS of delays!
TWELVE YEARS to work out the kinks and get the bloody game into the eager hands of the fans.
NO Gearbox.
This does NOT lessen the blow.

If Square-Enix actually listened to its beta testers for Final Fantasy XIV (they actually didn't allow testers to even submit feedback) they would have realized it wasn't ready for release and probably would have delayed it and not made one of the worst games of 2010.
That being said, I'd rather have a decade of delays than have to watch another game I've been anticipating fall before my feet even before its release!

But that's a shame really. I was never particularly excited for this - I've never been a Duke fan - but I genuinely wanted it to be released on time and to be a good game. Let's hope this is the last time it's delayed.
