Duke nukem forever, im confused

My confusion started after i watched zp's review of duke nukem forever, i looked online for the game and it said it had never been made, but then i saw gameplay footage and previews, can someone help me out.

The ZP was a satire, and the gameplay footage and screenshots were probably fake. 3D Realms are a bunch of idiots.

It was never made, they were working on it for 12 years before being shut down. During this time, they released several previews to keep people interested and assure everyone that work was still being done on the game. It's debatable whether the game was ever being worked on at all or if 3D Realms were just arseing about for 12 years.

Most likely taketwo will get the right for duke nukem forever and there entery work (hope this will be the case as 3d realms are a joke).
