I might be the most preowned game in the UK but does anyone really care about 'top sellers' ?
Yep. Top-seller means "most likely to make money" to every other publisher, which means expect more games like the top seller.

Reviews should eviscerate games otherwise we'll never learn! Lol. Anyway, review scores hardly translate to sales, and DNF has so much hype and so many fans/ex-fans waiting to play that of course it'll do well.

My only complaint so far is for PC, Vsync causes excessive mouse lag.
Does it run on Unreal engine? If so just go into the system.ini file and cap the FPS, unless what you're doing it avoiding screen tearing.
I don't think it's Unreal... not sure though. If I turn Vsync off my FPS shoots up to 120-150 but no screen tearing, the only thing I don't like about that is my GPU and oddly my CPU usage shoots up really high. I don't mind the GPU usage (80% +), except that I have to turn up my fans, but it's wierd that my CPU usage hits up to 50-75% usage and I'm using an i5 750 at 4ghz. Anyway it's just kind of shitty that instead of being able to play with low power and quiet fan speeds I'll have to crank it all up just so I don't get mouse input lag.

I'll check the system.ini file out tonight.
Putting an FPS cap in without Vsync should lower your GPU usage as well as temp while keeping the mouse smoothing to a minimum. I frequently do it to avoid high temps.

I'm still waiting for your DNF song... Come on, I'm your fan from the days when you posted that COD song! ;)
Still waiting? The game's been out 3 days :D
Still waiting my friend. :D

Speaking of the game, I enjoyed it until I had to drive. Why? Why driving of all things? Why can't I grope those titties, why can't I ...
I think I should stop here.

Hey, it's the UK, whenever a FIFA comes out it dominates the charts for months on end even though it's just a roster update from last year's game. I don't think the average British gamer has great taste. =p

(Thus, if you're reading this, you're an above average gamer per default)

Well now,I certainly didn't expect this to happen.

But,what can you do when you were hyped up for 14 years for this game and now that it is finally released, people still defend it even if it's not what they expected to be(a Duke 3D'-like game with healthpacks and carrying all weapons with 2011 graphics).

I could give the same example with Call of Duty franchise.Barely anything has changed(save for a few weapons)for the past 3 games. The rest is just the same with different guns. And yet people pay for it,including myself which bought Black Ops and enjoyed it for a couple of months in multiplayer.

Just because it's selling like mad doesn't mean the game is not god awful shit.

I haven't played it yet, but damn the demo is fucking terrible!

Kinda funny how anything, no matter how poor, will sell well if it's advertised well enough. Oh well; doesn't affect me until I become a game developer...I mean, advertising executive.

And that is why I don't like reviewers/don't see the point of them. They verbally eviscerated the game, and it still does great from the looks of things. They're just regular jack-offs whose job just happens to be presenting one man's opinion as if it's more important than everyone else's. But right now, I can't help but wonder how the US sells will turn out. As much as I hate reviewers, I hate the fact that they actually influence people even more.

Your thoughts on this turn out for Duke Nukem?
Seriously? How is it the reviewers fault that the general public has low standards? Reviewers looked over the game as objectively as possible and then graded it. I'm sorry that they are better at critiquing a game and finding its flaws than the average consumer. You hate them? Guess what? Most got into the profession to help ungrateful consumers like you.

In short a lot people in the UK waited for 12 years and decided they really needed to lose 60+ dollars.

@Op I'm sorry that so many people are bashing you for your thread, as I understand you perfectly.

Reviewers are there because they are supposed to say yay or nay for good or bad games, while some disagree, most of the time, if a game really are bad, the scores tends to show for it.

And on the same note reviewers are there to stop us from buying horrid games, they are there to put into contrast what I read of the box in my local store.

It hitting top seller in the UK kind of shows how pointless reviews are, and most of the time I don't agree with reviewers anyway, just as with movie critics, I can't relate to most of them, many of the "professional" reviewers has some form of degree relating to movies, and what they know may be all well and good, but they think too hard about small things that they fail to see the big picture and just nitpick it to death.

But, I digress, I pre-ordered Duke Nukem, and no matter what the critics have to say, I had 20 hours of fun, and I'm not quite fed up with multiplayer, thats more than what could be said for some other triple A releases (I'm looking at you witcher 2)

Hail to the King baby!

If you can't appreciate Duke for what he is, you should probably reach between your legs, and if you don't feel any balls, it explains your lack of appreciation.
Forgive me, but are you saying that not liking a game means we aren?t ?manly men??

But liking throwing turds around, objectifying women, seeing them tortured, and then outright killing them makes us men? I?m sorry, what?

Further, not everyone who has a different opinion then you is wrong. Saying ?I like the game. I don?t know why others don?t like it, but I respect them? is fine. However, saying that we do not possess testacies is downright juvenile and is something I would expect out of a 14 year old child.

I meant that more like "What's the point of reviewers? They absolutely kick the shit out of the game and it still does fine from the looks of things".
Because fanboys will always ignore reviews until AFTER they buy the game. Same shit would happen if, say, Skyward Sword managed to suck horrendously. The fanboys would still buy it up...
OR people would rather see for themselves than have someone else tell them, because other people's opinions aren't always trust worthy. When Bioshock first game out for the Xbox everyone was going on about how it's so great. Skeptical, I gave it some time and rented it. I thought it was boring, atmospheric and all that shit, but I couldn't play longer than a few hours because it was too easy. It wasn't until I got it on Steam sale for 5 dollars that I finished it.
Ah, but Bioshock was a new IP (if you don't count "spiritual successor" bullshit) when it came out. As where DNF has had fanboys pining over it for 12+ years.

I do count the "spiritual successor" bit because it was basically the same story as System Shock 2, just different setting and easier difficulty.
