Hello ladies and gentlemen of the Escapist, tonight's thread is a fairly simple one in which we will sit around and share stories of the dumb and/or painful things that you've done and weather or not you regret your decision to do it.

As for mine, today my friend told me that he got hold of some ghost peppers (bhut jolokia) which are one of the world's hottest peppers. I volunteered to eat one, not realizing that these are the hottest things on Earth until after I accepted the challenge. The burning in my mouth was extremely painful, but that was nothing compared to what I've been living with since I ate it more than 7 hours ago. I've had pretty intense stomach pain and I've vomited twice due to this stupid pepper. I kinda regret eating this thing since I had Halloween plans tonight (I still went through with them, but made it less fun), but I got a moderately funny video for youtube out of the experience so I guess it wasn't all bad.

So escapists, have you done anything unnecessarily dumb like this and if so what was it and do you regret doing it?

My worst is probably when I decided to make a molotov cocktail and throw it into a random sewer. I heard sirens almost instantly, so I ran into the woods, which was the first time I ever ran from (what may have been) the police.

When I was younger (and still now when I go home) I play chicken with the three trains that go by at night.

Thats actually how my friend tom lost his legs.

EDIT: I dont regret it. Im still the one out of my group of friends to run across the tracks and get closest to the train without getting hit.

Oh god, where to start. Played tag inside at church and ran into the point where two walls meet busting my eyebrow open needing 10 stiches, jumping backwards into a pool catching my chin on the edge of the pool, breaking my jaw and busting my chin open all the way to the bone, playing with a knife and slicing about a 2" gash on the knuckle on my right index finger, stayed outside in the sun for 8hrs and getting sunburn so bad it actually poisoned me, played with fireworks and burned my stomach. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Tried to take a high-speed corner on a 3-wheeled ATV once. I thought I could balance it on two wheels. I didn't weigh enough, and I wound up in someone's fence.
my knee:

I was pretty lucky, all things considered.

Some friends and I often went to the sand pits just outside of town to ride our ATVs but One year we got almost a week-straight of heavy rain so after the storms passed the pits were filled with rainwater and we'd go swimming in it. That might sound crazy but that's not the crazy part. I went with two of my good friends and about 5 others I didn't care for but hey we were having fun. We start to dig a tunnel into the sand-cliff just above the water and eventually made a very small U-shaped tunnel to climb in and then slide down into the water. This was amazing at first but the column holding the tunnel up inbetween the two entrances kept being bumped and parts knocked loose. I went in, slid down and was excited to go again. Just as I got up to the entrance, my friend starts complaining that he hasn't went yet. Well, I backed down and let him go ahead of me and right when he's smack dab in the center of the bend in the U it collapses. No one new what happened and we were trying to get a head-count, there were so many of us there we didn't know what was going on... then we started hearing faint screams from under the dirt and we all ran over there to dig him out... Of course one of the geniuses(sarcasm) there wanted to use a shovel..... We eventually dug him out by hand and he only sprained his wrist. That was a LOT of dirt dumped onto him, luckily he was a husky guy and could take it... I often think: That could've been me and things might not have turned out so well.

Back in middle school, I got with some friends and threw rocks at cars passing by my house at night. I took out a car's window, and we all ran off, never got caught. In high school, another friend and I shot passing cars with BB guns, and later a cop came by the house. Luckily, he was a relative of my sister's best friend, so he just told us not to do it anymore.

That's all I got, I like to keep from doing stupid stuff that can result in physical harm to myself.

Bottle rocket wars, sledding down a snowy/icy road that had about a 40-degree slope, sled down an even steeper hill with a sheet of cardboard (the hill was grassy and muddy, extra slippery thanks to rain), throwing lit mortar shells into (mostly) empty parking lots, attempting to successfully make my own firecrackers, and barreling down a hill on a 4-wheel ATV and nearly crushing my head. Do I regret any of those things? Not at all.

Back in high school I tried to play hookey and ended up falling face first onto a fence. Fortunately only the right side of my nose got sliced up, but did have to get seven stitches in and around my nose.
Though I did get to leave school early!

I pissed away $7000 and later ended up with a $10000 debt I could have avoided had I not pissed away the 7k.

Part of that money was a $1000 check I wrote to a friend because she was short of tuition and I thought, "Why the hell not?" Unfortunately, the rest wasn't on such noble pursuits. I did get a PS3 out of it and a new PC.

I don't regret it, but it was an extremely stupid financial decision on my part.

In hindsight, I would have gotten scuba lessons and went sky diving. I was such a materialistic bastard.

Walk on the roof of my parents house while drunk. I did it for the thrill during the moment but looking back sober... I'm lucky I didn't break my neck. Ahhhh. When the cautious Redlin lets loose...

What did happen? Do you still have a face?
OT: I climbed a tree to jump over a barbed wire fence and fell out onto it. Yeah...
