True that, Painkiller was very akin to Serious Sam in the fact that it was a pure run-and-gun shooter and it did that incredibly well, always keeping the intensity at 100%
Worst A.I ever i'd have to say goes to - MOH (the entire series was balls)
or Gothic 2, as much as i loved Gothic the AI was laughable at times.
Sleep in someones bed and he'll literally stand over you, watching you sleep for 12 hours and when you wake up, he'll casually slip into the pre-warmed bed and snooze for a couple of minutes then wake up refreshed.
I think it was the little quirks that made me love that game so much.
Oh and having NPC's walking constantly into buildings or often I'd see them nonchalantly leaping from plateaus to their death - especially annoying if they were quest-specific NPC's
