As a console player this worries me, I was looking forward to this game.
IMO, if you wanna play something, either go with Dragon Age II or wait for The Witcher 2.

EDIT: Though (ironically) the controls might work for the console. I can't really say. But that's still no excuse to screw the PC version.
hmm i was still really pumped for this game, especially it being from obsidian, i might just plug in my 360 controller like i've just recently tried with the witcher 2 to see how it works/if it works wonders (which by the way in combat that shit rocks with the witcher 2)

Played the demo. Nothing impressive however it might be fun as a co-op game. Sadly it's designed purely around console controls and just feels very clunky with keyboard + mouse. Generally it feels like slightly better DnD: Daggerdale.

And those say otherwise. (5 whole times!)
I read that AFTER I made my post. But we will see what happens. I don't own a PS3, so I'm not up to date.

Play D&D: Daggerdale and then play the Dungeon Siege III demo.

DS3 somehow becomes the coolest ARPG ever.

Considering the PC demo says "Get a taste of single player and local co-op (two controllers required)" I instantly gave up hope on this even being slightly worth getting.

My eyes deceived me for a moment.
For a moment I saw "Dungeon keeper 3" and my heart skipped a beat.
I wouldn't get it, I stopped looking forward to it when I saw the teasers.

Ok, the thing that pisses me off most about the game is a tiny thing. WHY the HELL do they use a dialog wheel instead of a tree? Talking to NPCs in the demo is no way cinematic, I can understand games like Alpha Protocol, Mass Effect, Dragon age 2, etc using it because you see your character talking and it feels like a movie but all the conversations you never see your character's face in Dungeon Siege 3 during the conversations! I think it is is just one sign of what the hell is wrong with the game, trying to be multiple things at once without doing any of them right. Trying to be Diablo like while having a bit of dialog choices... (note I haven't played any of the other dungeon siege games.) Hell, even as far as I got the story in the crappy movie was better at least that story was so bad it is good, this was just generic and boring far as I played in the demo without being bad enough to be bad enough that it is good. It feels like an Xbox arcade tile, no way is this game worth 60 dollars to me.

This is probably the first Obsidian game that came out for consoles I won't be buying (and I REALLY LIKED ALPHA PROTOCOL EVEN lol)

Well I'm not interested in DA2 at all, Is Witcher 2 on PS3?
Nope, it's PC and Xbox only and the xbox only gets it during Q4.

Just upgrade your PC and get it now, I can guarantee it's absolutely worth it to play it 6 months earlier then you would otherwise.

Besides, you'll be ready for the awesomesauce, 64 player version of BF3 when it comes out.

As a stand-alone game, you might try it. As a Dungeon Siege game, it is a terrible abomination. So, no, you shouldn't bother.

I tried it and the first thing I disliked was the fact that I couldn't change my controls and there was no way to know what control is what!
It took my a while to know that Q is changing stances! had to battle with that stupid longsword for too long!

Furthermore, it just felt a bit repetitive. Not really great.

I thought it was fun enough, if not a bit squiffily controlled.
There a demo for 360? 'Cos if so imma give that a shot.
EDIT: And hey, at least it can't be as buggy as that other medieveal fantasy RPG by Obsidian.

Damn, I totally forgot to play the demo. I shut my X360 off in disgust after playing that atrocious DNF demo, and just forgot the DS3 demo was even there.

I'll try it this weekend.

That's a shame, guess I'll have to wait for Dark Souls for my fantasy RPG fix.

Obsidian tends to be good too (well, in every area but QA), wonder what went wrong.

I've never played a Dungeon Siege game before, and I don't really like this.

I considered buying it because Obsidian was talking crap about making a "bug free game", and it'll be funny when it's not, but when you make a game that can be played with two fingers, I guess it's easy to get working.

I'd pay $5 for it, no more.
