I play when I can. But I generally play 4.0. Just because in 3.5 all the melee (minus rogues and expansion book classes) were strait forward and not very interesting. You rolled a d20 and you hit or missed. Sorcerors/Mages could flip gravity, throw things around with telekinesis, create wards, create translations with magic and so on with many skills that could be utilised out of combat as well. In 4.0 at least, I can go for a big swing on my barbarian that lets everyone get an easy shot in on me or skills that let me throw enemies around. Sorry about going off the topic but that's always bugged me about 3.5.

I quit a while ago because my work schedule is not accommodating to being a regular in a game. I do miss playing, but oh well, I've got DA:O to keep me happy.

I love the game under certain circumstances that are possibly contradictory:

1. The DM is always right. (When I play with friends and they fight with the DM it just gets stupid)

2. When the DM is not being a dick. (Killing everyone's characters and making them re-roll in the middle of a campaign just for lulz)

Well, after 10 years of mostly playing White Wolf, I'm sick of the World of Darkness and started playing a 4th ed game with some friends (I hadn't played regularly since a 2nd ed game in university). It's a lot more fun that I thought it would be, although a lot of that is thanks to our DM, who's thrown in a lot of character stuff in the campaign. Combat is only once or twice a session, and is generally challenging so we feel good when we triumph.

I am thinking of starting my own 3.5 campaign, though, based on the Iron Kingdoms setting. More the feel and steampunk elements used with my own campaign setting. Although 4e is better than I thought it would be, I don't think it's the proper fit for that campaign.

I'll always have a soft spot for D&D. Even though I'm tired of Tolkien-esque clichés and most print fantasy has long since moved past it, D&D is a flexible enough system that you can drop that stuff easily enough.

I play. Have been playing for a few years now. Done a bunch of other ones too, like WOD and Deadlands. Love it. I have no real problem with 4ed, but I still prefer 3.5v because I think it allows for better character customization. :p My only grip is that I had to move away from my old group for college and have yet to find another stable one. Next smester seems like it could work out though. XD

Although I started with ADND2E and progressed through 3E and 3.5E I find myself moving away from DND in general because with each version it became more and more exception based, reaching its epitome in 4E. I started looking for more generic rules, starting out with True20 and thanks to the Days Of High Adventure articles I found my way into HeroQuest (the RPG) and Over The Edge.

I recently started getting together on Saturdays to play with a group of friends. It's fun.

Not the best game out there, but a solid product by any account.

I don't really like the way it keeps reinventing itself with every edition though. I have not seen any other game that is willing to completely change the rule set and act like nothing's up.
