"I'm going to get a better view. Try and get down as best you can...avoid the loose shingles. I'll cover you from up here." Keeping low to avoid unwanted notice from the kobolds below, Furgin scurries towards a large boulder to the party's left. Surveying the scene, the halfling notes the kobold slinger and determines that dispatching him quickly would benefit his companions greatly.

Furgin hefts his bow as he slowly pulls two arrows from his quiver. Notching one above the other, Furgin takes aim, pulling the bowstring to his cheek. He glances over to the rest of the party and nods down to the kobolds, patiently waiting for his companions to make their move.

I am finally back! Huzzah! I should be ok to post regularly again...except this weekend...I'm away. Sorry! = P

Anyway, here's the lowdon on my move. Furgin moves 5 squares left, next to that big ol' boulder. Roll a stealth check if you need to see if Furgin remains undetected. Next, I shall Hunter's Quarry the kobold slinger and then ready a Twin Strike on him. I would like to withhold my attack until every one else has done what they need to do. Hence Furgin saying "I'll cover you". Hope that's ok.

For when Furgin eventually attacks, here are the rolls:

Twin Strike attack 1 (+1 for Prime Shot): Attack - 16. Damage - d8+1 = 3. Hunter's Quarry Damage - d6 = 2. Overall Damage - 5.

Twin Strike attack 2 (+1 for Prime Shot): Attack - 12. Damage - d8+1 = 6.

Also, are kobolds larger than halflings? If they are, Furgin gets a +1 to both attack and damage results thanks to his weapon enhancement.

That's all for me, hopefully we can dispatch this lot swiftly...maybe someone should try and get to the captives quickly, see if they're definitely ok?

I rolled a 21 for initiative.

Boindal

"As long as ye got my back little friend, I'll be down there...smashing some Kobolds!" As Furgrin moves into position Boindal slides down the slope and charges toward the knot of enemies, intent on catching the big sleeping lizards unaware.

Athletics to get down the slope d20+6 = 20! I am going to move diagonally 5 spaces so that I end up directly north of the closest lizard-dog thing.

As Boindal charges up to the lizard he focuses his psionic abilities and prepares to project the image of a striking cobra attacking his foes from his hand. "Wakey wakey ya scaly fiend!"

Vicious Cobra Strike in close burst targeting the lizard-dog and the Kobold next to him d20+8 = 26 vs AC, because I have targeted two enemies it is only my con mod damage which is 5, and both the targets are marked, plus I am augmenting it with 1 power point to then mark the Kobold on the other side of the lizard-dog as well. Then as a minor action I will us Battlemind's Demand to mark the Kobold furthest south which he stays marked till death or till I use this power again. Oh yes and initiative is a shocking 12! lol

As the shocked Kobolds turn their heads to Boindal he shouts, "Come on and hit me...I dare ya!"

Baldur

Seeing the gnome caster at the door, Baldur decides to get a closer look...with his sword.

Minor Action: Activate Skald's Aura. Move action: Climb down diagonal left (Athletics roll: 23) and move as far left as I can, then charge either the gnome or the kobold (gnome preferred but kobold if I can't reach.) Charge attack: 12 vs. AC, 12 damage. Defences increase by 2 til SoNT. Initiative 12

Pieter, seeing the enemies they now face, decides to try to get down the hill, much to his disliking. He was never a good climber.. or a strong person in any sense of the word. When he made it to the bottom of the hill he got as close as he could to the southernmost kobold, and began chanting under his breath.
d20-1= 17 Phew, was worried I was not going to make it... Then cast Charm of Misplaced Wrath at the Southernmost kobold, hoping to push it one square to the west and have it attack the Kobold next to it. d20+10= 14. Not so good, and I hope I added the right stuff to that..
Initiative is 8.

Kriv deftly maneuvers down the cliff, poises for the assault and charges headlong into the enemy shouting a warcry, "NI TOR'ASH BALASAR!" The draconic speaking Kobolds recognize it meaning glory to the Balasar.

Move action to climb down the hill: 1d20+8=18. Minor Action for Poised Assault stance, standard action to charge to whatever free space remains adjacent to one of the enemies, attacking anyone that hasn't been attacked yet. 1d20+8=14 vs AC =( Damage in the off chance it hits: 1d8+1d6+5=15

Furgin quietly moves up and takes cover behind the rock, taking aim, he waits for the others to engage in combat.

As Boindal, Baldur and Kriv all charge the enemies, Furgin?s arrows fly towards the slinger and scores two direct hits, drawing blood, and taking the creature by surprise.

Boindal?s psychic attack kills one of the Kobold?s out right, while the Guard Drake awakes from its sleep, wincing in pain before leaping to its feet and hissing loudly. The other Kobold?s unseat their clubs and set their sights upon the dwarf who had just slain their clan mate. ?You will die, pyyyg Dwarf!? squeals the Kobold, his pronunciation of common words a little off.

Baldur slides down the slope, reducing the distance between him and the spellcaster, before eventually bursting into a charge, attacking with his sword at the Gnome mage. But the Barbarian misses his target by no more than an inch.

Pieter makes it down the slope carefully and moves into the pit, his charm spell appears affective, as the furthest Kobold suddenly twitches, and enraged jumps at his ally, swinging his club. The attack lands, and caves the creatures head in, his helmet falling to the floor among the half-excavated dragon bones. The once enraged Kobold now stands, dazed and confused.

Kriv climbs down and stalks the outside of the combat, making progress under the cover of Boindal?s frontal assault. He then charges at the furthest Drake, scoring a heavy blow, cutting through scaled hide to draw dark green blood.

The Gnome is startled by the sudden shift from arcane ritual casting to combat; he scowls at Baldur before pointing a bony finger and stepping back, ?I don?t know who you are, but you will die here today, Human!? From his outstretched hand flies scintillating bolts and sparks, the largest of which hits Baldur square across the chest, the bright lights and colours making the Barbarian?s head feel light for a second, but there appears to be no lasting ill effects. Baldur knows that the Gnome is casting illusory magic on him.

Furgin, you shouldn?t really quarry or prime shot as there is another closer creature, but I will let you off as you have the element of surprise and are able to concentrate fully. You have a +2 bonus for concealment, and they have a -2 for defences as they are ?flat-footed? and unaware, both hits, nice strike. Kobolds are the same size as Halflings; small. Also, you bloodied the poor guy. Red circular bullseye thing denotes quarry.

Boindal kills a minion, and pisses off a Drake. Green Crosses denote Boindal?s marks.
Baldur makes it to the Gnome, but misses narrowly.

Pieter?s attack was successful, though I don?t know why you are adding 10 to your D20 roll, when it should, according to your sheet, only be a 5 for that attack. We will say it hit for now but let me know what happened there. I didn?t move you too close as I didn?t think you would want to be in the jaws of that Drake.

I allowed everyone to move a little after the climb/slide down, so I allowed you to stalk round and charge the unmarked drake. You hit him hard, but only because of surprise. Yellow cross denotes Kriv?s mark.

The Gnome shifts back one square and casts a spell right in Baldur?s face. He doesn't hit, in light of your crazy buffs. *shakes fist* Roll an opportunity attack if you want one for him using a ranged spell in CQC.

Furgin, you are up!

Baldur

Seeing the Gnome casting, Baldur lashes out instinctively with a fierce back-handed swing.

I'll take that AoO. Basic Melee 15 vs. AC, 13 damage! Sweet. Also, Kenobi, Tusk Shield increases all my defences by +2, so my Fort is 15, not 13. EDIT: Re-reading my shield makes me realise how broken that is. Might upgrade to a Cunning Short Spear...

After firing the first two arrows, Furgin quickly notches two more and draws the bowstring tight. Seeing the gnome strike Baldur with a vicious-looking spell, the halfling changes the angle of his bow. Just like I was taught... Furgin says to himself before releasing the arrows.

One of the arrows flies straight at the kobold slinger as the other follows a curling path past Baldur's head before hitting the gnome.

As I made a mistake by using Hunter's Quarry on the slinger, you can take it off him for the remainder of the round.

I'm going to use Twin strike on the slinger and the the gnome. Hopefully this will dispatch the slinger and severely injure the gnome.

Attack on slinger: 25. Damage: 1d8+1 = 8.
Attack on gnome: 20. Damage: 1d8+1 = 8.

That's alright. Should been more than enough to kill the slinger.

Boindal

Boindal side steps the Drake in front of him and swings his hammer at the Kobold behind the creature. As the hammer connects with the small creature Boindal focuses his psionic powers and changes the density of his skin making it more resilient to attacks. As he pulls his hammer out of the ruin that was the Kobold warrior's face, Boindal turns to the Drake next to him and smiles, "Yer next, ugly!"

5ft shift south east to put me next to the Drake and adjacent to the Kobold, then using standard action to use Iron Fist d20+8 = 19, I hope their armour isn't better than that! it will do 10 damage, and of course giving me damage res equal to my Wis mod of 4 until my next turn. Thinking that they are minions, hoping he is dead. Then minor action to cast Battlemind's Demand on the Drake next to me.

Baldur?s blade and Furgin?s arrows hit their targets well, but alas, the Slinger and the Gnome fight on.

The slinger holster?s his sling and draws a short sword, and thrusts at Baldur, missing completely.

As the gnome staggers and recovers from the arrow now protruding from his left arm, he begins to laugh manically, ?Fools...? he whispers, staring Baldur straight in the eye. Then he is gone. The Gnome appears to completely vanish before the party's eyes. As this happens, the Kobold Slinger?s image begins to shift and contort, evidence that some spell has been cast.

The Drake with which Kriv is engaged attempts to bite him, its jaws meeting armour, but not finding a weak enough area to do any damage. It then carefully moves back, staying within range of its prey, but positioning itself next to its kin.

Meanwhile, Boindal?s hammer scores a nice hit upon the Kobold, knocking the creature down dead. The Drake adjacent roars in anger, its large sharp teeth glistening with a thick layer of dripping saliva.

Gnome has turned invisible, while the Slinger now has concealment, even from melee attacks, due to some kind of illusion spell. Don?t worry, the gnome was visibly damaged, so your attacks did land quite nicely.

Slinger misses, like a twat.

Drake misses, like a twat. But then 5ft steps to the east to position itself next to its allied Drake.

Baldur?s turn next.

Baldur

"kápa skjald-maer!" Baldur shouts a bolstering kenning before swinging at the wobbly kobold.

Minor Action: Bolstering Speech (Each time I hit an enemy with a basic melee attack, one ally in my aura gains Cha mod. [+4] temporary hit points). Standard Action: Basic Melee Attack 14 vs. AC including my -2 to attack rolls, 8 damage. If it hits, which I doubt, Kriv is bolstered and gains 4 temp hp.

Baldur's attack misses the shimmering image of the Kobold, the creature as surprised as Baldur that he still draws breath.

Missed by 1. Unlucky Sprigg.

Pieter continued to chant under his breath as he observed the battle going on. He could not follow where the Mage had gone, but he knew what was close to him. He turned toward the far slinger and held up his staff, as high as he could. A bolt of lightning shot from the tip and, arcing over his allies, he attempted to strike the Kobold Slinger down. And he hoped, invisible or not, that it may Arc toward the Mage, but he was not sure what protection he had.
d20+5= 20 for hit. d6+5=11 for max damage. Lets hope that hits. Also, what I was going for there was to try and just have it arc to the invisible mage, Because if hes still there it might, but if thats not going to happen then just light up that Kobold.

Pieter?s bolt of lightning strikes the Kobold Slinger, killing it out right. The lightning bolts arcs, bouncing off of the Kobold?s smouldering corpse but fails to find the second, invisible target.

Boindal?s earlier hit has been edited and you have now killed the eastern most Kobold.

I liked Peiter?s creative use of Arc Lightning, so I gave it a 25% chance to bend the rules and strike the Gnome (on d100), but unfortunately it failed).

Kriv?s up next.

Sorry for my errors in attacks/damage recording. Been trying to update quickly where I have. Make sure to let me know if I make a mistake. : )

Kriv gains a heightened awareness of the battle space immediately around him and prepares to counter any moves his foes might make and then thrusts violently at the drake in front of him.

Minor action to activate my defender's aura, standard action for melee attack: 1d20+7= 24 vs AC. Knowing that hits based on what I hit with before, I trigger powerstrike for some extra damage: 2d8+5=14 damage. I doubt that kills it, but if it does, I'll move west to help out Baldur, if not, I won't move.

Kriv?s attack lands hard, drawing blood and seriously wounding the creature. As if reacting to the wound, the creature lashes out at Kriv, but once again its jaws bounce off of armour and shield.

Baldur notices the Gnome reappearing upon the edge of the pit with a scroll in hand. The gnome chants some unfamiliar words in a tongue long lost and the scroll transforms into a floating arrow, dripping with what appears to be bright green liquid. The magical missile flies towards Baldur, and hits him square upon the chest. The bolt bursts upon Baldur?s chainmail, leaving a splash of burning acid.
Looking up at the crafty mage, baldur notices that the creature is now taking cover behind the rocks atop the 15ft tall slope.

Kriv scores a very nice hit bloodying the Drake.

The Mage has teleported and then attacked, so is now completely visible. He used a scroll of Melf?s Acid Arrow (the same scroll you guys found on the Kobold Shaman) and scores a hit against Baldur?s reflex. 5 acid damage, and ongoing 4 acid damage, save ends.

The Gnome has cover behind the rocks.

Furgins turn now.

Also, to help move things along, if a player takes more than two days to post during combat, I will assume that player is suspending their turn till after the next PC in the initiative order. This should help combat to move a little quicker.

Furgin watches the acidic arrow rain down onto Baldur's position, revealing the gnome's location. "Blasted magic!" The halfling curses as he tries to catch sight of the gnome hiding behind the rocks at the other side of the quarry.

Despite the gnome's cover, Furgin sees him and readies an arrow. "My eyes are too good fer you," he whispers, drawing the bow. "I've been hunting in the woods fer long enough..." With a quiet snap, the arrow is loosed, slowly arcing high into the sunlight before dropping at pace directly above the gnome's position. Almost immediately, Furgin has loosed another arrow, this one at a fast and shallow trajectory. It was a trick Furgin had learned many years ago; when done correctly, both arrows would hit the target at exactly the same time.

Righto! Time to put that gnome out of commission!

I'm using Twin Strike.

Attack 1: d20+6 = 19. Damage 1: d8+6 = 8.

Attack 2: d20+6 = 17. Damage 2: d8+6 = 10.

If both attacks hit (which I assume they do?) then I deal an extra 2 damage. Overall damage is 18 then. That should do for him!

Confident that he has judged his shots right, Furgin focuses his attention on Baldur.

"You alright?"
