Hmm, Berserk Warriors... Might be cool.
What the fucking fuck was up with that teaser though!? Yeesh! Not only is Guts the first thing we as the audience want to see, but they take one of the most shocking moments in the story and sexualize it in the most sleazy way. This better not be representative of the final product.

While that is true about Dynasty Warriors, the scene from the manga Casual Shinji referred to (and the scene this trailer alludes to) is one where...RaikuFA said:

Unfortunately that's fairly typical of multi-media Berserk. When other people get to play with Miura's characters they usually have no clue what they're doing. If the final game exploits Casca's character I probably won't be getting it (despite loving DW games).
EDIT: Just checked r/Berserk and a lot of people don't seem to pleased with the teaser either. Hopefully the Japanese fans share the sentiment.
Not that the manga itself sometimes didn't have a tendency to exploit Caska a bit, but certainly not to this extent (having the camera going right under her boobs and in between her legs) and definately not during that scene. They could've choosen any of a hundred iconic moments from the comic, and they choose this one and presented it in the worst possible way.Fappy said:

I still really hate the Wyald arc for that exact reason. The brutal murder and rape of that farm family was horrific and shocking, but served a purpose in the story. The stuff with Casca? Completely pointless and pandering, imo.Casual Shinji said:

Guh. As for the idea of the game itself, I'm speaking as a non-dynasty warriors player, I think it could work. It really should be more violent than most Dynasty Warriors games though. As I understand, Dynasty Warriors are a type of "Your blades just knock people around until they run away," game. It just wouldn't be Berserk unless you can cleave through three men in plate armor with one swing.
But if there's one thing I'm concerned about, it's that Dynasty Warrior games are supposed to have massive casts of characters. I can see Guts, the Skull Knight and MAYBE Serpico pulling off Dynasty Warriors roles, but I struggle to think of any other characters that could fill the roll. Maybe the villains, because it would kick twelve kinds of ass to wade into a horde of Kushian soldiers as Zodd the Immortal, but even if we used every major character from the Neo-Band of the Hawk, it'd be a fairly small cast.
I felt actually seeing what happens to that family was already too much, especially since we see their remains displayed almost immediately afterward. That itself was kind of enough of a shocker. But yeah, that got weird. Also, because Wyald was a deeply disturbing and fucked up individual, and then he turns into this cartoon ape monster that's shouting out his power attacks. I was never a Berserk fan. I saw the 12 episode anime back in 2007, and the shit in their still freaks me out. Too grim dark for my taste. That said, I wouldn't mind playing this spin-off when it reaches stateside. The only problem I see with this is that we already have the Berserk games: Demon Souls, and the Dark Soul series.RaikuFA said:
I think you have to look at it as every character that has "the Hero's Aura". So Ishidoro is definately going to be in it, maybe with Puck as a sidekick. And Shierke too most likely. They'll probably throw in all the major apostles, Mozgus and his torture disciples, maybe even that one troll general that Ishidoro fought. Mozgus: Actually in his angel form he would be pretty good. And the torturers were my favorite fight in Berserk...though Small would be REALLY pushing it.

Boscogn/ Adon: Boscogn would be fairly welcome, though I think Adon should be more in the role of a joke character. He stopped being a legitimate threat after his first appearance.
Bazuso: It amazes me how much people like him even though he only appeared in one scene, and I'm counting myself here. He'd work.
Yeah, but I suppose if you're going to have a fanservice game, you might as well go out. Though it makes me wonder what tone they're going for. Hyrule Warriors was fairly goofy (fucking TINGLE was in it) while this looks like it wants to have a more serious tone, so I question how they're going to approach it. Ishidoro's more comedic character would clash with the bloody and brutal combat I'm expecting from this game. The teaser really didn't give us much to go on.

Man, it definitely sets the mood when the teaser is a clear allusion to the one of the most brutal, horrific, and chilling scenes in the entire series. Seriously, I was damn near in the fetal position when that happened. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what they do with the series. If it is a Warriors game, the only arc they'll be able to properly do is the Golden Age as that's the only one with sizable armies. If so it'll probably be the bloodiest game of all time considering people might as well be made of Styrofoam when Guts hits them.
