I wanna get into this after seeing Jims video on it.

Is the Vita one a good one to start with or even play?

Heh, now there's something you don't see everyday.

Hmmm, I'm afraid I can't help you there as I don't have a Vita.

However, if you can find one I suggest you check out the ones on PS2 first (3, 4 and 5). If you can't find them then try out Dynasty Warriors 7 which is also pretty good.

Also, if you can find a copy of Samurai Warriors 2 I'd suggest you try that one out as well.

You're best bet at the moment, however, would either be Dynasty Warriors 7 or Dynasty Warriors Vita.

Or, you could try out Warriors Orochi 3...
Which is a crossover of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

i say check out dw7 or wo3 since they are the best to come out so far i have nothing to say about the vita one since I'm waiting for more games and a second run for the vita itself

dw7 is a empire based story with different characters on each level and some don't have a level you just need to do stuff to unlock them
wo3 is based around the death of the villain of the first 2 and what happened after he died and it involves time travel. its a interesting game and its subtitled no English va's anywhere

I am patiently waiting for this game to become cheap as dirt and then I am going to play the shit out of it.

Generally used DW games on the Xbox get pretty damn cheap 5-6 months after release. I don't think i have ever spent more than 25-30 bucks on one of these games.

Got the demo and I really like it so I bought it.

I have no regrets doing so.

My first and still favorite Dynasty Warriors game is Dynasty Warriors 4 on the PS2.
I liked 4 a lot too, probably played it more than any of the others. But I have to say my favorite was probably DW 5: Empires. I loved the Empire mode.

I still say the best Warriors game was the first Samurai Warriors. Steve Blum as Keiji Maeda was much better than his replacement.

I have not tried out Orochi 3 due to a lack of funds and a lack of highspeed internet. But if you can try and find Dynasty Warriors 3 or 4, those are the best in my humble opinion. Also, Its...its...LU BU!!!!!!!

DW7 is a good start, good to be introduced to all the new mechanics and people right away, and it's been released on PS3 and Xbox now. I'm having a lot of fun with Samurai Warriors 3, but if you don't have a wii I suggest Warriors Orochi 3. Not only does it have everyone from DW and SW, but quite a few cameos from Tecmo-Koeis other properties, such as Ryu and Ayane. Only thing though, there's no English voice option (which might not be a bad thing considering the series reputation for voice acting).

My personal fave from the series, I think it's a toss up between 5 and 7. Guan Ping was boss in 5, but I do like the weapon-swapping that 7 introduced, plus they kept all the good things from 6.

That might just be one of my favourite things about the Warriors franchise, the dialogue is horrible and hammy to a point where it amplifies the experience, at least for me. Zhang He's over the top feminine aloofness or Guan Yu's gruff honour bound personality make the characters very memorable.

That being said, I haven't played a game in this franchise since Dynasty Warriors 6, which had abhorrent controls and combat. I did however spend an unhealthy amount of time in Dynasty Warriors 5, Xtreme Legends and Empires, as well as with Saumrai Warriors 2. Warriors Orochi needs a demo...

I liked what the they did with the DW7 story, multiple characters over a single arc, although I definitely miss the secret missions and conditions from DW4. Beating missions under certain, unnamed conditions would unlock weapons or even secret, character-specific missions (for the uninitiated).

Plus I'm pissed Zhou Tai and Wei Yan didn't get any screen time in the Wu and Shu stories. Those guys are badass.

Played the series since the 1st DW and big fan ever since.

Always fun to play with a friend or sibling(When available) and has taught me more about Chinese culture then I ever thought possible, even if some/most of it may be fictitious.

Personel favorites are 4/6/7.

4 had bodyguards that were more or less useless but entertaining to have.

6 Had a large scale of playable characters and a solid story you could play with any character(Mostly).

and 7 introduced many new things that were overall entertaining (And free downloadable Japanese Voice option!) though it lacked an entertaining/feasible online play that it flirted with in conquest mode.

Alas, I own a Vita but have yet to read much about the DW on the system and have few plans to purchase it soon. So i can't say if starting with it would be a good beginning or not.

This is more of a rumour than fact but I've heard that Steve Blum (along with a bunch of other VA's) stopped doing voices for Koei due to money reasons which is why he stopped voicing Keiji, Sun Jian and Xiahou Yuan.
