Part of me agrees, the other REALLY likes my gore-infested games.Peabob said:I think all games should have to be rated E or they are not released. Might encourage some decent gameplay rather than filling that void with explosions and mild cursing parading as character development.
Im across the board. I love bloody shoot 'em ups, but I like games like Spryo, Kindom Hearts, The FF series (Teen rated that last one, but whatever.) On one side, I think we should push the envelope. Developers should stop pussy-footing around and completely piss off the congressmen. I want a game to come out, that makes bible-belt mothers scream and the FCC shit bricks. Games like Postal are doing a good thing, but they need help. The unneeded, facistic tower of censorship stand tall. Mr. Gorbechev, bring this wall down . . . er, I don't think that applies here.
Okay, I hate censorship and love violent game, but at the same time, I LOVE variety, I play games of various generes, various moods, various themes. I don't want to play the same damn game every time. Yes, violent games are awesome, but where did all the light hearted stuff go? I mean, it didn't go anywhere, but what's there just got crappier. I love my shoot-em-ups, but I don't want to be restricted to just that. I don't think violence in videogames are any sort of problem, but that doesn't mean that I don't wish a choice for parents who think otherwise, especially those that actually take the time to look at the ESRB ratings.
