I was at the gym when they announced it and I haven't had time to watch the gameplay. I'm so frustrated that I can't feel the same sense of awe as everybody else >_<

I'm liking the concept... but I'm hating the protagonist. He strikes me as a self-righteous, self-centred prick (so it's Anon, the game?), who doesn't really seem to care how many people he has to kill or invade their privacy just in order to get the attention of one guy. I hope there's some other ways of going about your problems or I'll be really turned off by the notion of having to spend most of the game with such a douche.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought was, "That would make a nice backdrop for a VtmB sequel"?

Depending on the level of freedom given to the players, this could be fucking awesome.

Hope it doesn't turn out too scripted.

Probably. What the hell is that an abbreviation for?

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Or was it Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines
Or even Vampire, the Masquerade: Bloodlines?

My BS meter is going pretty crazy right now. Sure it LOOKS good, but will it actually play the way it looks?

Doubt it.

IF this gets released, I'm willing to bet it won't live up to that demo. I wish it was otherwise, I hope that I'm wrong, because it did look amazing. However, this industry has taught me never assume anything is going to be as good as it looks at E3.

Sad but true.

I was actually kind of disappointed when he pulled out the gun.
As was I.

Though mostly in a "killing/disabling targets in creatively" way. I hope it was just to show off the explosions and such to the E3 audience, and we'll have more freedom to get things done our own way in the release version.
Yeah, a part pf me kind of got depressed at that part too. But on the flip side, I noticed something else. It was a tiny detail but it kinda made me smile for a bit. He pulled a scarf or bandanna over part of his face as he pulled out the gun. I know it sounds like a strange thing to smile at, but I got a minor sense of glee watching a character actually attempt to conceal their identity for a moment. Sure, he's still wearing the same jacket, so anyone who saw him without the scarf might be able to identify him, but I still liked that tiny detail.

I'm also curious about how much of the car crash was scripted. Everything fell together a little too conveniently to be the product of random chance.
That, too. A lot of the demo content certainly felt more like the player was following a linear path than the player was dynamically using parts of the environment to accomplish objectives.
Yeah, I din't really like that demo as much. It was too simple and that car crash looked a bit too perfect. Sure, it gave the basic background of the world and pointed out a few skills, but they weren't that big. I was kinda hoping to see him walk around a bit more, mess with some more of the world.

Really, I'm just hoping this game has multiple possibilities.

You've given us the key to the city, let me choose the door I want to go through.

This could either be absolutely amazing, or soul crushingly disappointing. Considering it's only a demo with no release date, I'm going to assume that it's a pretty elaborate scripted demonstration until proven otherwise.

Also considering it's Ubisoft, my expectations are low. It will probably be late to PC, run like crap, and have crap controls with a crappy DRM.

Looks cool, but what is it about?
The ENTIRE city is connected. There are no secrets to the people in charge. They got all access to everybodys digital footprint. From their Music to their porn to their bank info. They know the Person better then they know themselves. And if that person had something the people in charge wanted? They would use that persons info to exploit them.

Your job is to bring it all down.

From what the trailer said about corporations controlling the system, I'm guessing a resistance group trying to take down "the man"
Alternatively: Think Enemy of the State except instead of the NSA, it's Omnicorp or some other generic organization.

Capcha: Total Shamble. I certainly hope not...

That certainly looks interesting, sort of Assassins Creed meets Deus Ex meets GTA, I'll be keeping an eye on it. I certainly liked th idea of being able to control the electronics around you to help you out and I really liked the bit where the guy dragged the old man from the car and told him to get away. The gun combat looks a little generic, but this certainly looks like one to watch.

The more I think about this trailer, the more I realize that just about everything had to be scripted.

Now, maybe they were just presenting in a scripted way, the kind of emergent gameplay that the game would have. But as for now I'm cautiosly optimistic. Leaning more towards cautious.

Side note... I'm wondering, if you can look up the names and some personal information about every random person you pass by on the street, will that psychologically affect how we treat them? I mean, it's standard operating procedure in GTA-style games to just run over people and go on crazed shooting sprees. I wonder if it'll be different this way? Like, you run some guy over, and then you see an info popup "John Smith: father of three, works at the bakery"

I got a Sylar vibe from the first couple minutes. Kinda bittersweet, as something like that done in a game could be rad. In any case:

Looks ****ing awesome. Presentation quality looks really high. The futuristic/technological concept seems to be implemented intelligently and diligently, as do the little touches that make this urban environment seem more alive.

Not usually my cup of tea; but I do appreciate most games that are thinking men's games, especially if political. I will be keeping an eye on this game.

All I could think throughout that entire video is how awesome it would be if it turned out to be an Assassin's Creed sequel in disguise.

Also, how fucking awesome that trick with the traffic light was. I also noticed he had the option to control the train. I would like to see what that entails.
