assassin's creed 2 also had a pretty beastly promotion plan haha
(even if the story went adjflkajdflkajlkdfjaf but oh well, less piece of eden more life of ezio)

but yeah mirror's edge still has that appeal
just probably not full price
tho a revamped sequel could change that

The sequel would be mighty awesome if they got the story right, more interesting and took away the gun play, HATED fighting SWAT teams.

I agree. The free running could have been great but when you got momentum going and started having fun you just had to stop and then climb up a wall, or enter some mediocre and crappy gun fights.

Maybe they should ask the team that worked on Assassin's Creed II for pointers.
Pointers on how to arbitrarily delay one part of a multiplatform release until everybody has heard every single spoiler already ad thus no reason whatsoever to buy an exclusively story based game, followed by whining over poor sales and how they were caused by pirates using mind control rays on customers?

I'm looking forward to Mirror's Edge 2. I would pre-order that sucker.

And if you are complaining about gun fights in Mirror's Edge, I ask you this: why did you even pick up a gun in the first place?

My mistake, then. I equated "critical" to the glowing red guys you couldn't bypass.

Initially, I was delighted when the tutorial told me to look for ways to avoid combat -- "Enemies you will have to fight will glow red." Then about three levels in, I realized that every f*king guard in the game was going to glow red.
Actually, I found the enemies you couldn't fight VERY annoying. How come you can disarm certain guards, but then others are immune to your ninja tricks, and are armed with weapons that dissolve when they're dropped?

Thank god! Mirror's Edge was an origional game that was so fun, except when you had to stop to figure out where you had to go.

It's relieving to see that the developer has realized the flaws with the original. If we're all lucky Faith will drop the gunplay and pick-up some more moves, both offensive and athletic.

Maybe taking the game's level design and making it a bit more linear could do it. I would elaborate more on that, but I just don't have enough time at the moment. Let me pick back up on this.

I'd like to see a Shadow Complex style "Friction Dampener" system added to the sequel which would give you even more super human speed/wall-running/(ceiling-running?) capabilities. Making things more extreme would be more fun. :)

I don't know if it's already been said in this thread, but didn't we recently hear about how poorly games supposedly sell on the Wii (Dead Space Extraction) and that EA are verbally jumping ship... but when a title doesn't sell well on the PS3 or 360, well then, it's just back to the old drawing board because they know they simply have to do better.

I know Mirror's Edge has been out for over a year and Dead Space: Extraction has only a couple of months under its belt, but I get this weird 360/PS3 fanboy vibe from EA.

Anyway, not to take anything away from the saintly message spewed by EA, but God damn.

You want to make a Mirrors Edge 2? Awesome! LEAVE IT AS IT IS. Why? Because you cannot improve on perfection. Leave the guns in as at times they are completely necessary. Leave the indoor levels ingame. Just make a perfect sequel for a perfect game.

Only fools would want no guns and outdoor only levels.

Maybe some motivation for Faith other than "dystopia is bad". Just a thought.
Didn't the cops kill her parents or something?
People fast-forwarded through the cutscenes and missed all that. Really folks if you're not going to look for the backstory the game isn't obligated to hand it to you. It's not like it's being given to you via a wall of text on elevators...well ok it is but still.

And I guess I'm the only person who didn't have a problem with the art style of the cutscenes.

Whoever's on their Dev team saying the game needs to be more like a standard FPS shouldn't really be working on the game now, should they?

No! Stop telling me good news about Mirror's Edge 2! The first one was everything horrible put together in one game.
Apparently you have bad taste in games since you do not know a good one when it is right in front of you.

I loved the first game and if they can fix a couple flaws, then I'll love the next game.

How about "Rescue your sister"? They just emphasized the wrong part, that's all...
