All right EA, good show, I mean this still doesn't make up for....many many things but it's a step in the right direction and should be encouraged,

I still wont buy anything from EA. They're forcing shit games out from devs now. TOR is horrible. DA2 was a giant turd. ME3 was a below average Gears of War with an absolute shite ending. Dead space 2 and 3 are crap.

I'd rather download EA titles than pay for them. I'll save my money for publishers/devs that deserve it, like indie games and CD Project RED. Oh, and those lovely steam sales.

-Gets rid of Always-On
-Hasn't done stupid campaigns to promote games (I'm looking at you, Dead Space commercials.)
-Attempts to fix the botched launch of Sims
-Gets rid of Online Passes

Everyone will still complain about EA because gamers recently have become inconsistent whiners who can never be satisfied.
"It's unforgivable"
So EA will forever burn as the most hated company. Because.

EDIT: I'd hate Gamestop over EA any day. And everyday.
It is not that it is that it will take a lot more then this to redeem themselves. They have only done this good stuff in the last 2 or so months. That is not nearly enough to make up for the previous Decade of some of the most underhanded business practices in years.

However I do see they are making an effort so I will let up on them for now. But if they do a 180 and another shitty thing comes out of them they will forever lose all trust.

AH-H....wait...*rereads* oh...So....they reduced the cost of a lot of older DLC and took away online passes for some of their games. Okay...I read that wrong, and came to the wrong conclusion. it doesn't really help me any as for the games on that list that I own I already paid for the extra stuff. But hey it's a...good? Decent? thing for them to do...I'm sorry just putting the words good and decent near EA feels like I'm trying to divide by Zero.

Actually notice how it all changed with the change of CEO. you know, when the guy that ran EA back when EA was AWESOME started running it again. at first i was worried but it seems that the old EA is slowly creeping back in, which is awesome.

Though we should never extra service before a system bug. especially with no comment stuff.

-implying that they will keep their word and not rush games
-Where? IIRC SimCity still requires always-online
-while their PR are lying as much as they can
-HAHAHAHA, no. Fixing Sims would require removing the always online drm and they said they won't do that
-Because the Xbone and PS4 have integrated ways of preventing used games. The point of the online pass was to force people who bought games used to pay some extra. They ditched it because they have no use for it anymore. It's now a part of the console. Now EVERY game on the Xbone has an online pass.
One problem, the PS4 doesn't have that.

Nice. Now ditch Origin and then we can talk.
Another fun fact; previously EA/Origin exclusives are now making their way onto Steam. Give it a look-see.

What about DS3 co-op mode?

You know what tho? I never thought I'd utter these words, but EA get a little kudos. Sim City was a disaster, DS3 a massive let down and Origin is still a constant pain. But it would be remiss not to at least acknowledge a step in the right direction.

If they give up on Origin exclusivity, I might even be able to buy their games again.

Looks like item #1 on the new CEOs to do list was "Make sure we're not voted worst company in America for the 3rd year in a row."
This. Maybe they realised that posting about how none of it is their fault and that costumers were meanies for being disappointed in their many failures was probably not gonna cut it.

It's a start. I'm waiting for their sincerity to extend to their more "recent" titles like Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3, and the new ones they're producing now.

A few more moves like this and I will feel like I can give EA my money for Mass Effect. Keep up the good work. I've wanted to buy that series for ages but did not feel they deserved it.

Isn't it the other way around, that EA and Valve didn't agree on terms so EA left Steam for good?
Yes, Initially that is true. However Need for Speed: Most Wanted/ Shift/ All those other good NFS games have emerged. This is followed by another roster of games:

However, does it still need to have origin installed? If so that is still a dealbreaker for me. Although thanks for the heads up that is semi-good news. :)

Just looked on steam and talked with friends who own a copy. Both state nothing about Origin being involved.

Finally I can play my Evil Character in Mass Effect 2 with the extra bits and bobs I wanted. Not sure if the Dragon Age pass is even vaguely worth getting, but it's a nice thing to do. Now to try and squeeze them onto my pitifully small Xbox hard drive....

Well I'll be damned, I may actually give EA some of my business for the first time in a few years. Thanks again for the update. I would have never cared enough to research it on my own. lol

You know, this actually came around at a perfect time for me. I just recently got Dragon Age 2 as a way of balancing out my utter frustration and ire towards Halo 4. Now I can have some extra items, the chance to change my characters appearance should I be unhappy with it, and now my Hawke has a sweet hound. All for free. I won't complain at all, I think its great.

However, given the uproar over the Xbox One (Which I can understand), I can't help but feel like this is the Game Industry trying to... Maybe balance the scales somewhat? Some really shitty news came out, so to kind of soften the blow, hey, EA is changing things up in a good way, have some now-free DLC.

Let's just hope it doesn't stop there. Legacy or Mark of the Assassin next, perhaps?
