I swear, I wouldn't have logged in just to share a video, but this video sums up about 50% of the rants around here:

"-This is for buying out some of the best game companies and turning them to mediocrity.
-This is for having some of the worst customer service in the gaming industry.
-This is for deliberately holding back game content for the sole purpose of making customers pay more for it later as DLC.
-This is for strictly enforcing copyrights on content that you did not even create.
-This is for taking the Need for Speed franchise and completely ruining it.
-This is for supporting the S.O.P.A.
-This is for overworking your employees with no benefeits, demolishing any creative talent they have.
-This is for making terms of use that allow you to backstab your customers any time you see fit.
-This is for releasing the same things every year, an increasingly large number being the only difference.
-This is for forcing your customers to stay online to even play several games you publish at all.
-This is for backstabbing Valve, preventing the developers you publish for from releasing their games via Steam for the sole purpose of promoting your own platform.
-This is for overhyping your games and not delivering the content you promised.
-This is for bribing media review organizations to increase the rep of your games.
-This is for monopolizing the entire gaming industry and crushing all that oppose you.

I'm sorry, Electronic Arts. I used to like you, but you had this one coming.
Your days of having hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place are over."

Nice description, creator of the video.

That's all well and good. But if it wasn't for retards that bought their rubbish games it wouldn't happen.

It's a successful business model. As evil and bullshit as it is.

I hate EA, but the guy who made this video clearly hates EA more.

If people stopped buying their games and made it clear why they stopped then EA will change its business practices. Problem solved

Oh hey, look. Another thread that's about the "EA is evil." topic.

I'll get the popcorn, who wants to join me?

Capchta: who is it? Hmm.
Good question.

Saw it reddit the other day. Jimmies were rustled. I still can't believe gamers went with origin solely because they won't play Battlefield on consoles, as it was illustrated in the video. When I started my boycott on EA back in January, they said I was crazy. Who's laughing now?!

Indeed.

We get it, EA have questionable business practices, but they're hardly committing genocide...

It doesn't say anything new, but you can't argue with some witty presentation and over-the-top drama. Loved the TF2 intermezzo.

Also, someone made a Gabe Newell model?

Exactly. I don't like EA so I don't buy from them it's as simple as that. And apparently the Mass Effect 3 ending is worse than kicking people out of their homes. Seems silly but what do I know?

Yeah this video really does sm up the situations with EA in a nutshell. If everyone who disliked their ****ty policies actully didn't buy the game then maybe they would stop.

Although I gotta say, as much as I love to hate on EA, we didn't need another thread on it, I believe this video was posted in another one the other day.

Bank of America stole 100 bucks form me once no reason they just took it. I didn't even get a game with a crappy ending I got yelled at. Thing is a week later they found out people where steeling money form consumers. Yeah I am going to say that is much worse than anything EA has ever done. And you know what I don't use them anymore.

Um... no. I'm no fan of EA, but this video leaked exaggerated, butt-hurt, immature, self-indulgent, bias whining from every pore.

Wow, that sucks :/ Yeah EA are a shitty company but they don't hold a candle to some of the really shitty companies out there.

Remember: what matters is that we don't hurt anyone who works at EA's feelings- or make anyone read negative opinions about them more than once.

Both of *those* things are totally unforgivable.

Right?

While it is obviously exagerated, but most (if not all) of the criticisms it raises against EA are perfectly valid. Their tendency to buy out and destroy smaller companies is well documented and awful, and they are still doing it (Say byebye to Bioware!) They demand that content be made (or even removed from the game) to be sold later as DLC, and have an abysmally inept and provocative marketing division, The privacy rights they brought in with Origin has been an absolute fiasco.

I don't really know about their DLC, because it's been years since I bought an EA game, and too many companies impose impossible deadlines and streamline and simplify their original IPs to solely call EA out on doing that (although they are still guilty of it) But once they've bought a company over you can pretty much be assured that the series it made will just plummet in quality.

Love the video, it was almost perfect but it lacked the marketing aspect of hyping the games, and the review buying.

None of this is an EA exclusive thought, they just happen to be the most fitting example.
