They just keep digging their own grave. Good, very good. The sooner they die the better for the rest of the industry.
That's what I said 6 years ago. They've grown since then.
Nothing is going to kill them short of a merger. Then shit it going to get real.

CAPTCHA: I do love typing out these stupid ad-catchphrases over and over again.
Especially when I get the same one three times in a row.

I was implying that this reinforces the fact that EA is dishonest, assuming its true of course. The stab in the back part is just my way of saying that any company willing to lie and cheat as much as EA does is not trustworthy.
Maybe I'm just jaded. It just seems silly to me to jump down EA's throats over something as silly as A: Something that no one has proof that they are behind and B: Something that even if they were behind it, it's probably for the public good that they are doing it.

A: You are correct, but looking at their track record it is a safe assumption imo.
B: Though it is impossible to determine what their motives are, with resent events in mind (like the whole winning the worst company in America thing), I wouldn't doubt it for a second if this was just a publicity stunt to get more people in EA's camp again. Many of the comments in this thread are using this line of reasoning and I think it has merit. Wouldn't you be pissed if they were using the struggles of the gay community solely to improve public opinion of themselves?

I'm just curious here but why does everyone think it was EA who was doing this? Actually, no wait, screw it, let me rephrase: "Lets assume, despite lack of proof, that it was EA that did this. Why do you care? Even if EA did bot bomb a petition TO THEMSELVES asking that EA not cave to anti-homosexual pressure (which already sounds silly) then why does any rational person care?"
I guess people assume it's EA due to the overwhelming praise that those bots give to EA, I mean I saw multiple comments which said "Wow EA, you are the best company and make the best games and now you're fighting for the rights of gay people!" Who would assume that it's not EA?

And a rational person cares about this because, well, using bots for legitimate petitions like this could destroy the powers and credibility of petitions, as well as making all points raised by activists through petitions worthless.

The site should at least investigate this, if this was indeed made by EA or not.

Im not entirely sure what this is about, no same sex relationships in star wars the old republic or something? despite it being in knights of the old republic is that it?

Its obviously spam bots though people are praising EA no one with a mind of their own does that. Its a shame Bioware are involved again as well though.

seriously though this should have been cleared up from the start there are no same sex relationships because we didnt want to bother putting them in, simple (or werent allowed I dont know).

I see a George from North Korea being happy and he will continue to buy EA titles.
If it was possible to have signatures on the Escapist, I'd totally adopt that one.

Rudolph from North Korea? wat

I mean this is so blatantly obvious it's laughable. Why are they doing this? They'd get the signatures regardless but this just delegitimises their campaign. It's like EA go out of their way to be hated and ridiculed.
They go out of their way to make as much money as possible, which gets them hated and ridiculed because they do shit like this to make more money. Basically, EA would probably release a live cobra from a zoo if it got more people to buy their games. Sad, I know, but unfortunately true. -_-

"Sigh" For a second I thought that they were getting a little better when they started to announce free ME3 DLC, I guess I forgot who we were dealing with.

They have a bloated marketing budget. If they'd pour some of that > $1 billion USD into development, maybe they could sell their games based on the quality instead unethical guerrilla marketing.

You know it seems a tad too obvious , even for EA. I doubt even they would do such a crappy job of it.

So what have they been doing, I can't really tell from the pics.
From what I can tell they have been using spam bots to make votes for their petitions? What did they do it on? More info would be nice.

Going with the assumption that they did indeed use spam bots to get votes for their petitions then I can't even say I am surprised. EA just keep doing stuff like this, it's as if they think it's a contest or something.
Pretty much this. All I can make out is that spam bots are involved. I don't know what the petition was for or any other details. Although this does raise concerns about the legitimacy of online petitions. Also can't say that this makes me want to start buying EA published games again.

It took me awhile to, but, from what I can garner from the posts on the thread, this is a petition that urges EA and company to not cave into anti-homosexual demands to remove homosexuality from their Bioware games. So, assuming this is their bots, this is essentially the equivalent of a standing President stuffing the Ballot Box with their votes for themselves.

I agree with 'Peter from Saudi Arabia' and 'Rick from Pakistan'.

'Steve from Yemen' also had some very valid points.
