If this was Activision they would make you pay another month of service after they shut it down...
Then they would shoot your dog and leave you a bill for the bullet.

But seriously good on EA, i dont know what a bioware point does really but since almost anything Bioware touches is golden then points must be good :)
and it's one of Heavy Weapon Guy's $200 custom made rounds...

Is 4000 Bioware points a lot?
It's roughly equivalent to 4000 msp.

But it only applies to Bioware games with DLC.

So it's worth a lot if you have a Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age origins on the PC without DLC.

EA has suddenly gained a heart? This is very unexpected, though Activision has kind of taken EA's place as the evil corporation of the game industry.
EA have been doing the 'repent and be a good guy' thing for like a year now, they even put out sassy comments about Activision being evil, where have you been hiding? :p

What are you talking about? They would charge you for a year and make you buy a second copy.

OT: Good to see that EA isnt fully an evil corporation.

I first thought, oh, how nice of EA.

But they are only doing it for some customers, randomly? It's basically a raffle now, would have respected them more if they just had a single policy for everyone.

Well,I suppose its better than nothing. Although they should really try to form a more unified approach

Oh, APB is down? Butbutbut... i liked that. It was like Saints Row multiplayer (With a bit less awesome, though). Hm, why do all the games i like die? (Well i just played in beta... but i considered buying myself a month or two when it is cheap)

Yeah, but looking good next to Activision is... how to put this... not difficult.

I can't help but be reminded of fury. And PCPP's quote on it:

"WoW/MMO players. Innovation? They crave it not"

Maybe they should release the server client to the public and just allow people to run private servers.
There is one I know off so the game isn?t gone forever.

OT: kind of sad to see it gone it was nice to see an MMO that wasn?t a MMORPG for ones.
Add to that the fact that, in any bankruptcy, the assigned agent will be selling off the remaining assets to meet the company's liabilities. One of which is the code and IP for APB.

They won't release the server code because that would render the asset worthless. It's possible they could sell it to somebody else (I seem to remember reading something about this somewhere) who may then choose to make some tweaks and re-release it.

I think it's doubtful that'll happen, but it's the reason why they won't release the server code, and why running a private server is likely to remain legally tricky.

People are about 2 years out of date with the whole "so maybe EA isn't evil" comments.
