Oh... no? I don't really like some of EA's business ethics but most of the games I've played from them are at least decent.

At least valve doesn't show open distaste and hatred for its customers like EA.
It just constantly trolls them. MUCH better.
But in the end of the day (year in Valve time xD) they release products that are worth the wait.
A small comparison for you.

EA and Valve. Two companies that are making games.

Valve: Troll the customers, release high quality, popular games, hold back games if they think they wouldn't be great.
EA: Don't troll the customers, put their studios under enormous pressure so their games often receive negative feedback, actively kill their reputation, milk franchises/studios to get a maximal amount of money out of them and risk killing the studio or the franchise.

I'm a huge Half-Life fan and cannot stand the silence about the next one. However, if EA was in charge, we'd probably have a bunch of half-assed made sequels each year.
Additionally, at the end of the day, Valve business practices that breed fan loyalty have put them in a far better position, financially, that EA's business practices that breed fan contempt.

Yeah, but last time I checked, trolling doesn't make their games unplayable with horrendous DRM, nor does it result in bad consumer practices. I love the logic displayed on this site sometimes.

Also, can we avoid responding to Sober Thal? He's obviously a corporate shill placed here by EA. There is just no way someone could defend EA with a straight face like that.

Love the slanted comparison.

Yes, but neither does disdain or hatred for customers. Funny how you shift the goalposts.

And yes, I know, Steam DRM is AWESOME and FLAWLESS and could never do anything wrong, but I've had numerous problems with it this week alone and I'm not alone on that. Steam's Customer service, BTW? Useless. So whatever. DRM: It's bad when someone ELSE does it.

nor does it result in bad consumer practices.
Trolling kind of IS a bad customer practice. Again, if it was another company, people'd be all over it.

I love the logic displayed on this site sometimes.
That's rich.

That's what passes for "logic" to you?

I could respond on how one "trolls" it's customers in a non-serious way, but one that also treats its customers like actual people, and one that doesn't kill every studio it buys under the sun rinse repeat, and stifle creativity by churning out homogenized samey sequels.

Fact of the matter is, EA is a public company, they have shareholders to answer to. Do you know what that means? It means consumers are ALWAYS going to be of secondary focus. Valve, on the other hand, has no board of directors, no shareholders to answer to, and sure, they're still in it to make money too, but I don't see them churning out samey sequels every month to maximize profits (See: Valve Time), while breeding anti-consumer practices, and putting people out of jobs because they didn't make ALL THE MONIEZ! on a game they developed.

Also, your argument with the Steam-DRM is pretty fucking weak. It barely constitutes "DRM". You literally have to be on the internet for 10 seconds and then make sure you exit Steam manually before you shut down/log out so it doesn't shut down improperly and bug out, which is what the "OMG OFFLINE MODEZ NO WORKS" issue is caused by. And not to mention, there are various workarounds to fix the issue, it literally takes a 10 second Google search.

EDIT: Worst case scenario, just download a crack from Gamecopyworld, and voila, Steam DRM is bypassed. Or go offline mode after applying the relevant patches. It's not even comparable to DRM that is effectively Malware.

EDIT EDIT: But whatever, I get the feeling you're a Fan Hater [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanHater] unable to see your irrationality because of the fact that Valve has about 1000000000000 fanboys riding its cock, and this annoys you for some unknown reason.

I guess because he is advertising his own site. His last thread like this was locked and he got a warning.
