How's it going folks, KLAW's EMWISE94 here, bit of an artist, bit of a gamer, lots of a dreamer. So, I enjoy coming up with scenarios that'd make for good stories to take place in and today I'd like to present to you one such scenario. So lets say, a recent event, either cosmic in nature or slip of the finger, has left Earth highly irradiated and quickly becoming uninhabitable, but worry not for in our time of need a race of highly advance aliens have taken pity upon us. They tell us that they have 3 planets on their galactic map that they can take us to for us to start a new. Here's the catch though: Each planets atmosphere has some X factor about it that will cause human kind to lose their biological humanity, meaning you're gonna have to change physically to adapt to that place! Now my question to you is: from the selection of planets, which would you choose to go to and why?
Right! Your choices: (note: things are about to get soft-science-y)
Planet A: The Hotbox
This lovely little rock is located in a system with 3 stars! So yeah its hot as hell there and to handle this your alien chums have developed cybernetic enhancements to keep you cool, you'll live, but be a bit bulky from all that alien air conditioning tech inside you. Some of it pokes out, exhaust pipes and all. But hey, think of all the add-ons you can make for your cyborg self.
Planet B: The Terrarium
Lush, green, 3 times the oxygen earth has! its truly a paradise, the land is bountiful in animal and fauna, learning from your previous mistakes you decide not to go all out and plunder the planet for its resources and decided to live more humbly to respect the wildlife. Y'all live in domed houses have healthier lives and due to the higher oxygen levels and less pollutants in the air, you all develop amazionian like buff bods *begin flexing*. Downside, Bugs, big bugs, huge freakin' bugs, cockroaches the size of minivans! Oh my! Surely you can defend yourselves, but not with those noisy and pollutant ballistics you had back on earth, no sir. Fisticuffs! Have at thee! But with gained brawn, comes loss of brain. You may be stronger but not as technologically advance nor as intelligent anymore.
Planet C: The Elemental Plains
So you touch down on a swell looking planet where the sun rises green and sets purple (trippy!), but it appears there's some form of odd happenings here and any organic lifeform that isn't originally from this planet seems to die within a month, bummer. Fear not, your alien buddies have a plan: with a serum made from the planets natural water and other stuff, you guys can now survive no problemo, all you gotta do is give up your good looks and golem up!
Will you go with fire and become a walking furnace that's constantly eating lest you run out of steam and pass out. Earth, where you sprout plant life and rock formations like a bad case of the barnacles. Water, where you gotta live in a containment suit or risk dribbling into the gutters. Or the planets fourth element which isn't Air (because that's too vanilla), instead you become living energy, providing power at the cost of your own strength and life span or sapping power to power up and live longer, sure you're unstable and sometimes explode without warning (you'll be fine, can't say the same for Sam though...), but hey, at least you don't gotta pay power bills.
So what's your pick? Basically how extreme are you willing to live? If certain things seem a bit vague, fill in the blanks yourself. Imagination!
Bonus Question: You meet someone from one of the other planet colonies, how do you react to their change?
