I am in Northern Ohio as well and didn't feel a damn thing. I've got friends all over the state though, and their all talking about it.TheYellowCellPhone said:Felt it, here in Northern Ohio. Wasn't much, didn't surprise me that it was in Virginia.

Well ya, we obviously know it's not a big disaster, but since it's the first one many of us remember it's interesting and exciting.Gwarr said:Overreacting much? 5.9 is nothing guys . I know you have no earthquakes in that zone but this is so silly . People scared , telling other people where they were when it happened like it was some kind of a disaster . Only way someone could have died would have been from a panic attack or something .
I heard Toronto to Georgia.oppp7 said:I felt it. Scared the shit out of me because I didn't know what it was at first.
Edit: For those curious, it was a 5.9 (at time of typing) and I heard it was felt from Boston to S. Carolina.
OK, so being in a lab where there are corroding chemicals while there's an earthquake in progress can't leave you with damages due to chemicals? Also who's over reacting here? Most of them says it felt weird. As far as I can see people share how it felt and nothing more.Gwarr said:Overreacting much? 5.9 is nothing guys . ...I must admit, when I read "it was a 5.9 at the time of posting", I had that reaction. I mean, 5.9 isn't tiny, hell, the last one I actually felt was in 2003, and it happened a little bit into the Pacific Ocean (January 16th - Blanco Fracture Zone - Offshore Oregon, - Magnitude 6.3). All it really did was rattle the house I was in a little bit... not a big quake by any stretch.silversnake4133 said:Lulz, I felt it, but nothing in my room moved, not even the loose-leaf papers scattered about, or my track medals hanging from a shelf. I thought I had gone crazy for a moment. I can just see the people on the West coast who might have heard of this are already rolling their eyes and saying "Oh yeah well we have those and worse all the time, so stop acting like it's a big deal." Funny how they fail to see that they're on a major fault line, we East Coasters on the other hand aren't.
