Good. EA needs to be hindered in every possible way. Next time we should throw rotten vegetables at them during their E3 presentation.

I'm struggling to find a Nicolas Cage picture for this thread...

... Um...

Oh wait, got it!

EA's facebook page has been approved by Nicolas Cage.

"Nicolas Cage, because they ain't worth it..."

Flagged. That'll stop you mindlessly spewing Mr. Sterling's opinion in a hateful manner without applying any critical of your own.
I'm sorry... what?
Dude. Seriously.

"You have the same opinion as someone else, I'm flagging you, ha that'll show you"

What part of that didn't set off troll warning lights in your head? Go to your profile, go into edit ignore list, add his name. Done. Hell, I know he'll be trying it on me next so I've already added him to mine.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, at least the first time. Especially now you can get warned for accusing someone of trolling... but yeah, I thought as much.
You're a better person than I am.

You can get warned for accusing someone of trolling? Wow. That's hilarious!

Besides. You don't accuse them of anything. You don't give them the satisfaction of any response at all. You just flag, block, and forget.

Yeah, I guess the reasoning is that, if you genuinely believe someone is trolling you, you should just report them and leave it at that. Replying to them and calling them a troll is grounds to be accused of trolling yourself.

Well done you twats! Now we can all look on as it becomes impossible to make a legitimate complaint against the business practices of EA without being pigeon-holed as a member of the most immature demographic of gamers. Seriously, how much do you have to suck to make EA come out of anything looking like the good guy, and it's a position that I'm sure they will now milk for all it's worth, just like they milked the people who accused Bioware RPG's of shoving homosexuality in their face. If we want EA to change, or just go away if change is no longer possible, then can we please stop handing them ammunition for crying out loud?!

Well done. Well fucking done!
My sentiments exactly, who thought that up and went "This is a great idea, and it will send a message!"

Who cares if EA thinks their gamers are a bunch of immature pricks - ultimately those gamers are their customers.

Anything negative done against EA is a step forward. Unlike feminists, I don't see any group who is particularly sympathetic towards EA or their practices.

Jesus christ how immature can people be. I mean come on you might as well had just gone to their headquarters and spray painted "cock" on their wall or something.
I would "like" that.

And they use their money to abuse their customers so people will fight back. While immature, its common sense.

You complain about these people and then go on to give them ideas that they might follow? Hmm does not compute.

OT: While I don't care that this was done to EA I am annoyed that they will play the victim card and gamers will be seen as worse for it.

Flagged.

People are allowed to have the same opinions as other people, and still voice them. Especially considering this is an entirely separate issue with only tentative thematic connections to what Jim Sterling said. Stop trying to derail the thread.

And he's correct. Spamming a Facebook page with cartoon porn is the wrong way to go about things.

I don't think change is impossible anymore. After all, EA started as a core group of ELECTRONIC ARTISTS who's sole purpose in game production was to create new and amazing worlds for players to explore and fall in love with. I think what happened was the Harvey Dent theory: "You either die the hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" however, I think it's not beyond help . . . it might be wishful thinking but I like to think one day, after a few more decades of dickishness, EA will come right back around and be worth a damn again.

I don't condone the actions of /b/ that much, and I'm no fan of hentai, but after hearing what EA tried to do with Valve? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1MWsE_mm2A&t=6m30s]

Say what you will about EA, at the end of the day this little stunt will do absolutely nothing.

I'll be honest; of all the PR bullshit that EA has done in the past YEAR, this has to be the strangest.
There is still three months left and the release of Black Ops 2 still to go, anything can happen.
