EA's free game, which will it be?

So apparently EA is going to give everyone who has bought Simcity a free game to apologize for the trouble with the horrible launch servers, all affected customers will get an e-mail on march 18th giving away a code to redeem said game. Until then I am curious, which game(s) will they be giving out? additionally: will they give us one game or a choice between several like Sony did?

My opinion is that they are probably going to give us "Dragon Age: Origins" as it is currently on Origin, old enough to get a significant price drop (you can buy it online for about $10 which is fairly low in my region) and has a sequel making it likely that consumers will spend more money in the future.

Internet high-fives will be distributed among everyone who guesses correctly.

EDIT: I just received my email from Maxis detailing which games are given out, if nothing else I am fairly impressed with the amount of relatively new games offered:
Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)
Bejeweled 3
Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)
Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)
Medal of Honor Warfighter (Standard Edition)
Need For Speed Most Wanted (Standard Edition)
Plants vs. Zombies
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition

To keep the thread relevant: which of these will/would you pick?

I bet it's gonna be either Dead Space or Battlefield 3- Battlefield seems more likely, what with the multiple DLC packs for the game, but DA:O seems like a good bet as well.

I was sort of under the impression you'd get to pick what you want, but we'll see!

I dunno...Sims...something something? I stopped following those series after the bajillionth expansion for Sims and I know they've already moved onto having numbers in the titles but I've got no clue how high those are.

At any rate, I was left with the impression that people would get a choice. Probably "choose 1 of 3" or "1 of 5" or something but still.

You - stop ninjaing me, right now! Oh, the audacity - you saw what I was going to write and posted it the minute before while I was explaining about the Sims. That's low, man.

We'll probably find that, due to some exciting cross publisher talks, it will be the second most talked about game of the year so far.

Likeliest situation is it will be an older game or poor seller, and will likely result in even more ire being thrown their way when all is said and done.

Likely dead space 2 or something. So they can try to get you to buy the other in their series.

It'll be the original SimCity on the SNES! Just give them your mailing address and they'll ship it to you overnight! You just have to pay for shipping and handling!

In all seriousness, it'll probably be any game, add-on, expansion or DLC on Origin under a certain price. Most likely anything under $30.

At a guess it will be something so old and so awful that giving it away is cheaper than turning it into landfill, i'm imagining an old EA warehouse full of ancient pieces of crap gathering dust. Those lucky early adopters are likely to find something like "Aaargh!" for the Commodore Amiga gracing their letterboxes

Yeah I'd hate to see what landfill sites would look like filled with binary code.

It'll be a downloadable off Origin.

And of course i was being 100% serious and really believe that EA would drag out a 20 year old game for a system none of its customers probably have and send it by snail mail

/Sarcasm off

My point is i really dont believe that EA will give away anything of genuine value

"To me"

you left that part out. Some people will probably *SHOCK HORROR* ENJOY the free game they get given. I know! What innocents they are.

No, i think the "I" and "dont believe" bits cover it. Besides i didnt buy Sim City 5, nor do i have the slightest interest in ever buying it. If you did, I seriously and unironically hope you and everyone else gets a game you enjoy, I just dont really have much faith in EA any more.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with SimCity, the third episode of my let's play is uploading, meanwhile

is up!

As you can see, it works perfectly, doesn't lag, and is a well polished, albeit not at first, game from Maxis that captures the feel of every sim city before it, whilst adding new twists. Your personal feelings towards EA aside, this is a great game. I've been playing SC since 1995, so from an old hand take it from me, your "EA ARE TEH EVULZ" stance here is completely unjustified.
Bit of a shameless self promotion you've got there Resonance, besides lag and crashing (although those also happens occasionally) usually weren't the issue. The problem for most of us was that we couldn't connect to the game at all.

During the Twitter AMA with Lucy Bradshaw she actually already announced that "You will have a choice in your game" implying it won't be a single specific one but a set of options to choose from.

EA ARE TEH EVULZ is always justified, they have just done so many bad things they deserve to be punchbags. Being mean to EA is like laughing at a clown, its pretty much the correct etiquette.

I'm really concerned about Resonance SD shameless shilling for EA. It's always the most forced and trite praise. EA is great, no errors here! Best game ever, thanks EA! I mean honestly, who writes like that? I smell PR department at work. It really smacks of their twitter fiasco.

In response to OP, I wouldn't be surprised with a second copy of Sim 4, I also wouldn't be surprised with a copy of DS1. But lets remember, whatever they choose, WE MUST HATE THEM FOR IT! Honestly. Fuck EA and the whorse they road in on.
