45 million players attest to Origin being a competitor to steam? so you have players. BECAUSE ORIGIN IS THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE CAN PLAY GAMES THEY WANT TO PLAY. If BF3, SimCity, heck, even ME3, were all offered through Steam, you can bet people wouldn't be using Origin to play them.

I don't think EA is the worst company in the world, not by a long shot (looking at you Monsanto), but they are by far the worst game developer. The problem of course being that they own some really good studios and some really good IP.

Just remember, folks, only YOU can bring this massive shithole of a business down. Don't buy any of their games. Not the new Battlefield, not any new Dragon Age or Mass Effect, not ANYTHING. The only way they will finally die (I'd normally say change, but I've lost hope of reformation for EA. Non-apologies like this just make it painfully obvious) is with your effort. Or rather, lack of effort.

All you have to do is not pay for their overrated games. Once EA finally bites the dust, the market will open up for better companies to take their place. These companies will make better games with more market share. Think of it as an investment.

I love how his admission of being wrong contains about one line of actually "yeah, that might have been wrong" and then paragraphs of "WE ARE POPULAR THAT MEANS WE ARE GREAT."

Also, good job focusing on the people complaining for petty reasons. It makes it seem like the people complaining about you are silly despite the huge list of things they've done wrong.

They're not the worst company in the world. They are easily the worst in gaming though, and every time they try to make themselves look good, they just further show how pompous they are.

They said they 'made mistakes' yet in this entire message, other than the fumbled SimCity launch, I cannot find anywhere where they admit specifically to a single mistake.

Here, "We can do better" is best translated as, "We can make more money".

"The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Real Racing 3 are at the top of the mobile charts; Battlefield 3 and FIFA"

Hmm... an FPS, and ... The only soccer game on the market. Something tells me you're cherry-picking, dude.

Also "Hey, at least we're not Homophobes!"
Shine on, you crazy spindoctor.

Although, true, at least EA isn't actively hurting anyone or killing the environment. Gotta give them that. If people are still throwing money at them, it's their own fault. Caveat Emptor.

On the whole, I can accept the spirit of what he's saying - vitriol and hate mail are very unnecessary, and EA doesn't even come close to the most unethical or "worst" company - but it's hard to believe the line on DRM. A lot of gamers don't trust EA to keep its promises and live up to its reassurances, and that's where the problem lies/ on corporate lies. EA needs/could put its hands where its mouth is, and people could start to trust it/ but optimism is a finite resource which does not trust EA either.

This long winded "apology" is nothing more than PR babble that doesn't even accomplish what it sets out to do.
That wasn't "long-winded". If anything, there was a lot more that could have been said.
