Harry Potter 7: Part 1.

Hey we just teleported to this random Muggle cafe. OH SHIT WE GOT FOUND BY DEATH EATERS WITHIN MINUTES?!? HOW?!? Well I guess we need to constantly be on the move, don't put up our tent in one place for more than a day or two in case the Death Eaters manage to track us down again. Oh look Ron got pissy and left, and Hermionie is upset because she knows he'll never be able to find them again when they teleport away.

Wait, how did the Death Eaters track them down in a random Muggle cafe like that? I mean it's only the entire reason they're on the move constantly throughout the film. If only there was 2 or 3 lines of dialogue from the book they could use to explain it.

Nah, lets just hope no one notices.
Actually they did explain it and it isn't a plot hole. It's just REALLY easy to miss. I'm sure it was Hermionie that said Voldemort's name in the cafe and since it's taboo'd as Ron explains later, they were instantly able to find them.
I wouldn't say it is easy to miss, Ron points it out when he gets back and when they next use the name it becomes a major plot point.
I would still say it's a minor plothole. I think it's doubtful that in the 6 years before no one ever bothered to mention or to ask why everyone is so afraid to say Voldemorts name.

A lot in the first resident evil movie. Why aren't there any measures put in place to protect sections of the lab from any virus spreading. Why doesn't the lab have enough of the antidote for everyone working in the lab. Why didn't they send soldiers informed about the virus. Why isn't there any way for the red queen to communicate with the outside world about what happened in there.
Each of those things could have prevented the entire movieplot. That the scientists just open the lab again without any protections like a thick wall around the entrance with a double door system is just another thing.
I think that is a huge plothole that the people in charge at the Umbrella corporation are obviously completely incompetent.

There are tons of Harry Potter examples that could be dealt with with a line or two. But then, they are movies, and I expect they made them assuming everyone in the world had read them and it didn't matter. Personally, I'm a fan of the CinemaSins mantra "the books don't matter."

It wasn't Taboo for those six years, just after he took control near the end. He cast a spell to help trap those few willing to say it (as those people were also the largest threat). The reason people were afraid to say his name before wasn't a practical one, it was fear/superstition.

One plot hole that always stuck with me was in CoD MW2 the whole reason for Russia invading the US was because of a terrorist attack on a Moscow airport which was blamed on the Americans because a CIA agent was undercover within the group that caused the attack and the agent was found dead at the airport. My problem is that there were three to four Russian terrorists during the attack, one of which died on the tarmac of the airport and all of whom were recorded on the airport's security system, not to mention one of the terrorists, named Makarov, was famous for making threats against the new Russian government and was a wanted man. You mean to tell me that after the attack neither the US or Russia decided to look over the tapes and see what happened instead of just going immediately to a full scale invasion of a global super power. Also General Shepard's plan for killing off his task force makes no sense, he does it so that he will get the fame and recognition for stopping Makarov even though he was the leader of the group he would be considered an hero anyways. Then once you throw MW3 into the mix everything becomes even more of a mess since now we learn that a member of Makarov's force ratted him out to the American's which allowed them to know about the attack and get a CIA agent in to the force. Makarov finds out about the rat and leaves him for dead IN THE PARKING GARAGE OF THE AIRPORT HE'S ABOUT TO ATTACK, we even see him getting helped after the attack, this means he also never went to the authorities saying the American's had nothing to do with the attack.
MW2 is a stoyline mess no matter how you slice it and you might as well ignore MW3 because practically nobody involved in MW2 made MW3(not to mention how so many things make no sense in MW3 regardless). Makarov is either the world's #1 terrorist or running the Russian army depending on which part of the game you're on and even though Price never manages to prove
Shephard was working with makarov, he's still able to work with the US special forces without going to prison.

The only thing that holds MW2 together is Revenge and really cool set pieces.

When the Jerry's Brother found out GlaDOS
was going to murder the entire Executive branch, not to mention half the DoD,
why didn't he tell someone? He's supposdly the top enlisted guy in the Air Force and works in the basement of the pentagon, for God's sake. The movie could have been over in 5 minutes if he's actually done his job.

Jumper (movie version)

No guns, no guns anywhere. The douche protagonist (calling him 'hero' is far too generous) has some stupid looking douche knife, and the survivalist has some sort of gas-based flamethrower (don't even get me started on that) despite the story taking place in the land of the well-armed, and both of them being able to just teleport into whatever gun store after hours to help themselves. Can Jumpers not use guns? We don't know; it would have taken less than five minutes to have a scene where he jumps and it sets off the ammo in a gun he's hiding but no, that's too much to ask for in such a terrible movie. The climax has a segment IN A ****ING WAR ZONE and nobody picks up a ****ING GUN! This more than anything else about the movie rustled my jimmies something terrible.

Trans4mers (I know it's not called that)

What exactly happened to Sam? Don't get me wrong, it gives me a fuzzy feeling in the cockles of my heart to think Operative Fraser Crane had him murdered, but it's like going to a school reunion and not seeing some little weasel that still holds a special little rancid place in your heart.

What I meant is that since everyone is so afraid to say his name, it implies that this taboo already existed before he got himself killed by a toddler. At least that is the only way it makes sense for me, that everyone substitutes his name.
I don't think it's anywhere mentioned that it existed before, but it is hard not to come to this conclusion given the fear the wizards and witches display whenever his name was mentioned.
So either the wizards and witches are pathetic and afraid to say a name despite it didn't do anything or no one ever bothered to explain the taboo to any children.

It is the former. In the books at least it explicitly states why people are afraid as well as when and why it became a Taboo to speak it. I cannot recall how much detail, if any, either of these things are explained in the film versions, but missing minor details with a larger impact is hardly uncommon in adaptations (and is far too common in these particular ones).

In Return of the Jedi, Leia tells Luke that somehow she's always known that they are brother and sister.

Final Fantasy X: How do blitzball players hold their breath for so long playing pretty much underwater hockey?
How To Explain It: Breather masks.

Mass Effect 3: Why doesn't Mordin just run for the elevator after he fixes the Shroud, potentially surviving?
How To Explain It: He tries to, but gets KO'd by an explosion.

Armageddon

Why did they teach a drilling company how to be astronauts and not instead teach astronauts how to use the drill. I know it defeats the purpose of the ENTIRE movie but it just seems more logical.
I used to be annoyed by things like this in the movie. Then I realized I was looking at it the wrong way. If you watch is as a halfway serious movie, it'll piss you off. If you watch it as a Comedy, it's great.

I think the fact that Bruce Willis is chasing Ben Affleck across an oil rig with a shotgun, shooting at him the whole time, in the opening of the movie was a subtle clue to not take the movie seriously.

Really? How so? Don't just go posting RLM's video either (because 1. That's lazy and 2. I don't thave the time to re-watch a 90 minute long video and respond to every single point that the person attempts to make), explain to me yourself what the plot holes in the film are.

Actually you know what does have a couple of giant gaping plot holes? The Original Trilogy

1. Why does the millenium falcon go directly back to the rebel base when they know that they're being tracked?

2. Why doesn't Han bother to go and pay off his debts to Jabba between episodes IV and V

and to a much lesser extent
3. Why does the empire re-build a battle station that is shown can be destroyed by a single well-placed photon torpedo by a medium sized fighter?

4. What the hell is up with the space worm? What does it eat? How does it survive?

I'd say the entire prequel trilogy. A council of the wisest sapients in the galaxy couldn't figure out that "bring balance to the Force" didn't mean "wipe out the Dark Side"?
but that's exactly what it means, since the dark side is a perversion of the way the force is supposed to be. Also, Anakin actually does eventually do just that at the end of Return o the Jedi. I'm not sure why so many people find that so hard to understand

The Adventure Time Flame Princess arc

The whole big deal about this arc is the Finn can't really touch Flame Princess without dying horribly. However, the whole thing falls apart before it even starts. A creature by the name of Flambo cast a fire resistance spell on Jake so he can go to the fire kingdom. They never explain why Finn just never uses it to protect himself. This entire thing could be early solved by saying that a fire-person is too intense for the spell to handle.

Bruce Wayne magically getting back into a completely sealed off Gotham from the middle of the desert with a battered body and no resources. Magically setting up a random Bat Signal on a building when he gets back (WITHOUT ever being noticed by anyone) instead of... you know... helping people. Talia al-Ghul and all that involves her character. Magically surviving a gigantic nuclear bomb sized explosion without anyone noticing him ejecting or ANY indication of that happening at all to begin with. Those are the ones that come to mind right away, but I have a feeling that there are others I just am not remembering.
Most of those plot holes aren't plot holes, they're just unexplained scenes. Most of those are covered by 'he's rich and truly rich people don't need their wallet' and 'psychological warfare is his thing, he doesn't do stand up fights'.

He mentions at the start of V that he bumped into a bounty hunter prior to the film, there's already a price on his head, Jabba is making an example of him and the money wouldn't be enough any more.

It's the same shape but not the same station, in fact this one's reactor is accessed through an uncompleted section of superstructure, there's no proof it even has an exhaust port.

In Citizen Kane nobody is in the room when Kane says Rosebud and then dies. Unless the nurse used a baby monitor (in the 1940:s) there's no way anyone should know about his last words.
Not a plot hole. His Butler was in the room with him, something mentioned in the film.

Does he say that? Well my mistake then, I guess I need to watch that film again (not that I really need an excuse TESB is awesome). Still, unless that bounty went out like immediately after the end of a new hope it's kind of Han's own fault. Also the death star one was more something i just found kind of amusing rather than anything that seriously bothered me, but I guess I didn't make that clear in my first post.

Almost the entire last hour of Mass Effect 3. There are so many problems throughout that entire game that wouldn't exist if there was an extra line of dialogue or two. There's dozens of other examples throughout that game as well, though some come across less as plot holes and more the writing staff not knowing what words mean (the game seems to think that synthetic = have metal bits in you; it does not mean that).
I was going to say the whole Mass Effect trilogy. Now I love Mass Effect and I still love it (I just ignore the last hour of ME3) but for me every damn cut scene where my Shep gets her arse kicked because my Shep was a biotic and the amount of times she could have come out on top buy simply using sigularity or pull or warp but didn't really pisses me off.

I just re-read the screenplay and it looks like there's been a price put on his head. He's actually leaving for there at the start of TESB, which is what him and Leia argue about. He'd decided to stay but a bounty hunter they encountered on Ord Mantell convinced him that Jabba was seriously pissed at him.

From the discussion between him and Greedo in ANH it sounds like he assumed that Jabba would understand his loss of the cargo and had pretty much run him out of town and chalked it up as a loss, or at least didn't care enough to really pursue him. The discussion between him and Greedo implies that he's of the opinion that dumping a shipment is an accepted risk of smuggling and that Greedo is either exaggerating the anger of Jabba to try and wrangle the Falcon from him or that Greedo is looking to collect the money as a leg breaker rather than as a hitman.

However, events just before the film had made him realise that Jabba had put out a contract on him and that he couldn't run forever. At this stage he'd finally decided to leave the rebels behind and try to settle up with Jabba.

I was pretty wrong but it's not a plot hole, I think a lot of it hinges on the time elapsed between films, I get the impression it was only a couple of weeks at the most since they're still laying markers around their base.

While the game has a lot of plot holes there is actually an explanation for the one you pointed out. Elizabeth doesn't actually transport you to another dimension. Instead what she does is she takes the other dimension and melds it with the current one, think of putting all the files in one folder into another, hitting "replace" on any inconsistencies. So with most people, they just suddenly do and are what they were in the dimension she grabbed. But since they were alive in the dimension she pulled, and dead in this one when the overlap happened something went with their minds, one mind is working fine, but the other is dead so the overlap doesn't work out like it does for two alive minds.

As for booker not ever remembering through all those deaths. It's because the lutece twins are "taking" booker from a dimension and putting him into another, not layering him. Their tech can't overlap worlds like elizabeths alteration powers.
