EDIT: I have been told that on a lot of valve games they include iconic stuff (rooms, items etc) as one-time things for the player to find, visit or use as easter eggs. For instance Left 4 Dead has rooms from portal, half life 2 and a few others. Quite cool, wish some other companies would do it more often.
What?? Wait, where? Half-Life 2 and Portal rooms in Left 4 Dead? Do you know how to find them? Are they also in the 360 version or only PC? I'd love to see those!
Unfortunately, my information is only word-of-mouth. I know they exist...I have a very trusted friend who spent hours on L4D, but I know not of where to find them and he claims "he forgot". This is on the 360-he prefers the console rather than a PC. I think they exist on the PC too, though.
Sorry i can't be more help. Just keep looking.
Also-i was playing wolverine on xbox yesterday and i found a secret room inside this facility where you are moving teleports. Inside the facility, when you get the cryo-freeze room move the teleport to the right (against the required direction) and it goes through a small hole in the wall int oa small room. When you teleport into it, you find cake and some very portal-esque stylee writing on the walls saying "the cake is here!". And you get an achievement for called "you found the cake".
Fricking awesome. There is also a bit when you are running away from helicopters and troops n a forest, you veer off path to a bit with destructable scenery (use feral senses to find it) and you go down a little path to a WOW reference. Something about a cold sword and a dead body. You get an achievement.
(this is the xbox version, dunno about PC or PS3)
Enjoy easter egging!
