Tell me about your favourite Easter Eggs or cultural references you have come across in a game ever, or recently.

I think my favourite "haha" moment was recently leveling up from 80-85 in the new Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft when the parody to Andre Dodson was done.

"HIDE YO WIFE, HIDE YO KIDS!!! THEY KILLIN' EVERYBODY UP IN HERE!!!"

Last one I remember seeing was the Dead Rising reference in L4D2 Passing.

Remember all those texts written all around the map? One of them was signed by Frank West. I lolled so hard, don't know why :p

"Otis, Out of film, no helicopter. Zombies are too fast. Not going to make it. - Frank West."

I have one question, though... How could he die? He covered wars, you know?

Neverwinter Nights.

If memory serves correctly, these weapons date to the stadium battles of old Kai Chen province, where promising warriors would test their skills against the greatest samurai of the day in ritual combat. If ever a challenger was victorious, he or she won the people's ovation and fame forever, symbolized by a Kaga-To katana. The blade is etched with a simple phrase: "Tell me how you fight, and I will tell you what you are."

Easter eggs? Do people still put them in games?

I would say the Shinespark sequence break message in Metroid Fusion, but I haven't actually done it myself. There is probably one I like in the Metal Gear series too, but I haven't played in a while. Do the funny radio conversations in MGS3 count?

I fucking love easter eggs. Developers need to put more into their games, it makes it a lot more fun and interesting.

One of my favorites is the HEV recharge station face at Black Mesa East in Half-Life 2.

Moments like in Fable 3:
Move through a graveyard in Mourningwood and your dog will lead you to a dig location over a grave. Dig there to get a toy sword. Check the gravestone, and it will read "It's dangerous to go alone take this". This is the same phrase the old man in the original Zelda games said when giving you the first sword of the game

Dragon Age: Origins:

On a tombstone: "In memory of the Lohs, forever frozen in never-ending winter nights." - NWN

Or another: "T.O. Hanoi. Unloved, unmourned". A reference to the Tower of Hanoi puzzle which was used in Mass Effect, Jade Empire, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Edwina - Edwin from Baldur's Gate

The Throne of Bhaal: the result of the collected underpants. And in Baldur's Gate Khalid saying'th-th-th-that's all folks'. Tiax :'the day will come when it is Tiax who will point and click!'

In Divine Divinity 2: The killer rabbit...

In Divine Divinity: The developer room.(Hard to find)

There are actually quite a lot that I like.

Oh god Ive seen so many easter eggs, remembering only half of them now would make my head explode.

The ones that I remember:

Dragon Age Origins: Star Wars reference

GTA: San Andreas: When you go on top of one of the bridges it says "There are no easter eggs here"

The UFO ending in the first Silent Hill games were great. SPOILER.They depicted a bunch of aliens abducting the main character, harry mason. in sh2 the aliens are back to kidnap james, this time with harry among them. In sh3 it happens again, but this time with harry and james, lol. A lot of nonsense humor can be found in the franchise, surprisingly.

The only one I can think of lately was in Dead Space 2, It was an achievement for defeating a pack of stalkers called 'Clever Girl'.

Jurrasic Park reference ftw!

In Marvel vs Capcom 3 I started cracking up uncontrollably when Deadpool said, "MAGNETO! WELCOME, TO DIE! HAHAHAHA!"

Oh Capcom, you really know your audience.
