EB games, what the hell?

I have had some spare cash so I decided to buy Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins of the PS3. The first the day I go and buy Borderlands (I had enough money for only one on me) without problems, I even had a nice chat with the sales guy. Next day I go for Dragon Age I am about to pay when the guy asks for I.D. I was surprised by this considering Borderlands is much more violent and gorier than Dragon Age yet no I.D. necessary. Do you guys think Dragon Age is really bloodier than Borderlands?

Um, Dragon Age is WAAAAY bloodier than what I've seen of Borderlands. One guy even EXPLODED in Dragon Age.

And besides, Borderlands looks much more cartoon-like.

Possible slight spoiler warning for Dragon Age:

Aye, the first time we see a blood mage (if you happen to go through the mage origin story) more blood seems to get chucked about in a single scene than most averagely violent games would see in an entire stage. That said, there is more to Dragon Age than just the blood to make it warrant an ID check more than Borderlands.

Anyway, it's more likely down the salesperson. Perhaps one thought you looked younger than the other did.

Considering if you can handle the graphics on your pc, everytime you're in battle, you are covered from head to toe in blood, yes (you can also get your Mabari to lick you clean, which IMO is quite messed up).
Also the cutscenes are really quite gruesome.
Also, I can't believe this is your only gripe about EB, hahaha.
Completely overlooking their insanely overpriced games (JB blows them out of the water everytime), the staff that perpetually don't give a fuck about anything you say and have no idea what they're on about, and last but not least. The fact that whenever there's a collector's edition of any game that's highly anticipated, they're the ONLY frigging store who is selling it (that to me is just wrong).
I rarely shop at EB, it's just shit. My advice is go to Gametraders. It's run by gamers for gamers, and has every single retro game you could possibly ever want (as well as new and used).
But seriously... Fuck Electronics Boutique. If it wasn't for the mass effect 2 and bioshock 2 collectors edition (with those vinyls... *drool*) I would never set foot in EB.
I can't believe your only gripe is their ratings system...

What? I'm only 15, I don't know what this "sex" is. But don't bother telling me, as I'm sure it will corrupt my soul.

That's odd because they're supposed to ID every M rated game. But Borderlands looks like this [http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/File:Nine_toes.png] and Dragon Age Origins looks like this [http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/File:Blood_Magic.jpg]. I mean, Borderlands is bloody but it's nothing in comparison to Dragon Age Origins.

I have far larger problems with EB Games than their inconsistent carding tendencies. Now, having been over 17 for a while I haven't really had any problems with that in a while, but some of their less-than customer-concerned policies have me not shopping there. That coupled with some of the less-than legal policies I experienced whilst working for them.
