Recently I got a copy of F.E.A.R for the ps3, then after I finished playing it i realised that im now a 12 year school girl who gets startled when a car passes by. So that aside what are the momments in gaming that scared the living crap outta you.

I don't tend to play games intended to scare me. But I did get condemned based on a recommendation from my friend. That game sorta scared me at some points, like Bart's department store, stupid manikin hobos.

Condemned. I can't remember which one I played, but the part with the mannequins... it scares me to talk about it. That whole game made me feel sick from terror. I haven't forgiven my friend for making me play it with headphones. It wasn't even a cheap jump-out-at-you scare. It was awful. I haven't played a horror game since.
*shivers*

EDIT: Dammit, black lincon! Beat me by... two whole minutes? My internet is slower than I thought.

I may be bias since I have not played any of the games in the poll, but "Clock Tower" was by far the scariest game I have played. It was one of those games that was done right, though I do not speak for the sequels.

(edit - this post was made when only F.E.A.R and Condemned were on the poll. I have played the Resident Evil games and may have played any future games that the thread maker stabs on)

Silent Hill 2 is the only game to have actually given me nightmares for several weeks after.

Doom 3. The game itself was sub-par, and after a bit you come to expect shit to keep popping up behind you. But the first time through, about mid-way through the game you come to a long dark hallway with moving shadows at the end. After spamming 'nades for a while, I figure "huh. Can't kill them from here" and start walking. About halfway down the hallway, you see about a half-dozen shapes bum-rush you. Switching on my light so I can see what it is attacking me I am greeted by the sight of demonic genie babies.

Demonic. Fucking. Genie. Babies.

No other game has ever come close to giving me the "WTF? HOLY SHIT! SHOTGUNSHOTGUNSHOTGUN!" as much as those little bastards.

When I'm wide awake, none. When I'm dead tired, Crash Bandicoot scares me, well depending on how long I've been up. It just depends on how long I've been up and the type of games. Though, Eternal Darkness after 13 hours of no sleep and The Suffering after 15 hours of no sleep.

I don't really find survival horror games scary because usually you are prepared for what is going to happen. I am however still traumatised of the first time I encountered a ReDead in Zelda: Ocarina of Time when I was eight years old.
