Okay...so! Last night, I go to sleep, and I come into the Escapist today with a Levi's thing at the bottom of the screen which I assume must be something to do with the site itself. I say this, of course, because of the Escapist-logo button present on it, naturally.

Right... Long story short, I don't see the little X to close it. Where is the Close button? Not hide. Close. No offense, but I don't want it.

EDIT: For those of you not afflicted, it's an ad-thing attached to the bottom of the screen with several links and an ad of some sort (not just Levi's, apparently). This is unacceptable.

Funnily enough, the ads in which you speak were removed because enough people found them overly irritating. I have NO PROBLEM with the Escapist making money through ads, but as much as they have the right to use them, I have the right to click a little X button and say "Bye-bye!" to them like every other pop-up. Additionally, I do not use Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and so on. This bar has no use for me.

Guess on a scale of 1 to 85456786452 of how many ads I've seen on since I join the Pubclub? That's right! 85456786451!

But none of them were from The Escapist, so no, I am not seeing Levi's adverts, what ever they are. Know what I do see? A funny comic and the User Motto of the moment. Truly, it feels like I'm a king.

Or just some guy who pays to keep adverts at bay. Either way, flashing my cash at The Escapist is the best decision I've made with "money" and "internet" since I forwarded the Prince of Nigeria some money so he can fly over here and give me my wealth. Shame his flight keeps getting delayed.

This is exactly what you should not be doing. Subscribing to the publishers club because of it's features, or because the site is good, or even because they listen to their community (and remove features like this which people don't like) is fine, but subscribing to avoid new features just encourages The Escapist to blackmail it's users.
