Does anyone know of a way to help me get out of bed in the morning?
Alright, I'll explain the way I do it, and yes, it sounds absolutely ridiculous. Basically, as soon as I wake up, pretend there is something really urgent going on outside, (zombies rising, alien invasion, machine revolution, free pie stall etc) throwback the covers and literally jump, yes, jump out of bed. You look like an idiot, but as soon as you hit the floor, you've jolted yourself awake and its so cold that I'm pretty much forced to throw some clothes on or have a shower.

I dunno if it works for anyone else, but thats what I do when I really struggle to get up.

PS. It helps if you land with a pose.

...Well, not really, but it looks badass.
I'm liking your idea the best so far. It is just so full of awesome.

put your alarm clock on the other side of the room so you have to walk to it to shut it up.
You learn to do it in your sleep. I have.
I just get up turn it off and go back to bed without realising it.
Once you´re up, turning off alarms and opening curtains, don´t go back to lying position. Make coffee (or tea, or other form of breakfast), take a shower. Change your morning routine so that you don´t have time to just lie around (but don´t go exhausting yourself), and keep up the routine. You´ll learn to stay up once you have awaken. Strong self-discipline is your friend.

I have much the same problem, although instead of 5 minutes I waste hours just lying in bed. Fortunately it´s summer break in here, so I have time. It usually helps to arrange a meeting with someone early in the morning. I have to wake up fresh, so that I don´t miss it.

If you have any electronics experience, get a low-powered stun-gun and rewire the momentary on button to a small relay, and rewire that to your alarm clock (might need to dig around to find what switches when it goes off)

Then just tape the wires to your leg or somthing when you go to bed, and I gaurantee you will wake up on time. Note that unintended side effects such as cardiac arrest may result. Even better, weave some conductive faberic into your matteress so the whole bed can light up with 60 kV of sleepiness-eliminating electric arcs.

Ahh man I hate getting up...

I'm up at 5 45 most days for uni and I have soo much trouble. My alarm is on the other side of the room and I get up, hit snooze and get back into bed..

Sometimes I feel better by the time I leave, other times I am not really awake until I get into town (after a 20 minute drive and an hour train ride) but walking to uni always wakes me up good. In the event that it doesn't there is always coffee!

For some reason masturbating gets me out of bed. :\

Either that or get an air-raid siren to wake you up each morning.

Get a loud alarm, and put it at the other side of your bed-room, next to a note saying 'You need to go to work to get the moneys'.

That way you're forced to get out of bed to switch it off, and you now have motivation to stay awake.

When I actually have to get up, I have a trick of flinging my phone under my bed with the alarm on, so I need to actually wake up and find it, the alarm is the sound of a gunfight, so it does get quite loud and annoying >.> it will get you moving, especially if you end up lying right above it on the bed.

Ah...sweet.

Personally I set two alarms, and it also helps that my alarm clock is on the other side of the room and is the loudest, most annoying sound that I've ever heard in my life.

Think of the sweet sweet coffee you'll be drinking once you get out of bed.
It works for me, but I'm a coffeeholic D:

Whatever you do DON'T have a radio alarm on a talk radio station. My radio is set to BBC radio 4 (which tells you that I'm amazingly middle class), it worked for a week or so, but then I just started falling back asleep and having some of the weirdest dreams ever as I subconciously listened to the morning News, or a discussion on the artwork of Ancient Rome.

A good way to wake you up would be to construct some contraption that will hit you with a hammer at 7:35; a bucket of water is no good as then you'll have to spend all morning drying out your mattress.

I have 4 alarms - three clocks + my mobile phone. I set them all to go off at slightly different times, and place them all around my room. It wakes my neighbours too!
