Do we need a plot twist?
In fact, do we even need a storyline in Skyrim?
I know that the main quest was the weakest aspect of Oblivion, so it'll likely be that way in Skyrim too...

When you join your first guild, it turns out that one of the Four Princes (depending on the guild) is the guild master or something. Also after the final boss fight the economy collapses and sweetrolls become the standard for all transactions.
