Astoph, catching up to the group, puts his hand over his face at the sound of their plans
"Ugh, how about we think a bit, before going in there? Even if you do manage to kill them all, which is very unlikely, you will be wounded and they would have executed the prisoners, one of them being our employer..."

"They're on a boat. A boat in the ocean. The Dominion has fancy magic, but not enough to send a message onto a moving boat. Even if they did, if we kill them all, no message will get out. Simple." Lloden cracked a grin.

"They send message whenever under attack, it's policy for them"

"Well, we can choose, let them be slaves and then solve to save them, or go in right now and have them all perish, rather than become slaves, but very well, propose to me this plan."

"My plan isn't that complicated. Lloden gets any additional information on the boat we're looking for, I fire bomb all boats but one, and you two cause a brawl in the middle of the camp. We all meet back at the boat that isn't on fire in two hours tops. Any problems?"

"They send message whenever under attack, it's policy for them"

"Onto a ship? Admittedly, not a ship that's very far out, but nevertheless. Levitation magic is way too slow to catch it, teleportation takes a static gateway that must not be moved, telepathy only works between exceptionally powerful conjurers that work in close proximity for extended periods."

"My plan isn't that complicated. Lloden gets any additional information on the boat we're looking for, I fire bomb all boats but one, and you two cause a brawl in the middle of the camp. We all meet back at the boat that isn't on fire in two hours tops. Any problems?"

"Yes. How soon do we get to do this? Sounds fun."

Some of the guards invited Dro'Araaj to join them for drinks, he turned them down with the excuse of being tired, he didn't want to get too close to people he might have to kill. He found an empty cot and lay down, he didn't have enough poison for the whole ship, and maintaining cover would be more difficult once they reached their destination, he would need to come up with a plan. He resolved to try to get a position where he could speak with Joncis.
Sighing he rolled over and began to doze off, he'd been in worse situations, at least he was pretty sure he had.

Some of the guards invited Dro'Araaj to join them for drinks, he turned them down with the excuse of being tired, he didn't want to get too close to people he might have to kill. He found an empty cot and lay down, he didn't have enough poison for the whole ship, and maintaining cover would be more difficult once they reached their destination, he would need to come up with a plan. He resolved to try to get a position where he could speak with Joncis.
Sighing he rolled over and began to doze off, he'd been in worse situations, at least he was pretty sure he had.

"Yes, so is a High elf levitating at the speed it would need to catch up a boat that left aproximately 30 minutes ago. Besides, it's a prison ship, they aren't made to keep people out, only in. You in or not."

I have heard of no such communication magic. If it existed, history would be much different. I am thinking you don't know magic as well as you pretend to. Of course, simple smoke signals would be more than adequate for now."

"That's clearly not what I meant by communication, I'm not saying they go and fly over onto the ship in order to do so...
Anyhow, how do you propose to fire upon their ships so easily, it will take time and multiple explosions to take them all down, and by the time you let one off, you would have their attention, me and Belkin alone can not distract a small army of men for that amount of time"

The point is, there's most likely a more thought out way to save them, rather than taking the huge risks you propose."

Astoph takes from his pouch a vial of water, frosting it in order to cool it, before taking a few sips to refresh himself in the hot weather.

"You clearly don't know what conjured messengers or illusion magics can do in the form of long ranged communication.

"An illusionist or conjurer who can perform over such distances would be valued indeed, not sitting in a camp in a relatively unimportant camp. They would be in Firsthold relaying troop orders. There has never been a reliable method of long communication. There may be a way. Besides, conjuring at all while moving is tricky, conjuring onto something that's moving while you're not is damn near impossible. But let's say they do, what do they send? They don't know we're trying to free them. They would think that we've a strike force from another army."

] We've seen conjured messenger across a single city. And as far as I recall, we've never seen illusion used for that. Seriously, I've never heard of any mention of long-range communication in any piece of elder scrolls lore/game. Almalexia, one of the most powerful people in Morrowind in that "Last Year of the First Era" series of books has to ride all the way to the psijic's island.
