I've heard something about Bethesda saying that there are no plans for a fifth Elder Scrolls, at least not right now, but I can't say for sure, it's just hearsay.

I think I also heard something about an Elder Scrolls MMO? I dunno, I might go back and look into it more. I just hope the MMO thing is false, that could kill the whole feel of the Elder Scrolls for me.

I heard they had this game in a beta stage and they were just about to release it when one of the testers acquired one too many keys which caused a rupture in the fabric of space time (due to the impossibility of having a billion keys which weigh nothing) and sucked the game and all the devs into an alternative dimension.

I really hope there is another Elder Scrolls game. The series is so rich in lore, which makes the games so interesting to play.

There's definitely going to be one; Personally I reckon it's going to be set in Summerset Isle but if you want the low-down the best place to be would be the bethsoft forums.

I'm willing to bet it was released to critical acclaim in said alternate dimension. Hope some form of the game comes crashing through orbit one day.

There's going to be one. There was a leak by the author of a book based on the property, he let slip that the book was set 300 years before the next game.... or something to that effect. It was covered on this site.
