How many times has this happened to you, and do you have any fancy stories to go along with it?

My new iPod Nano just took a dive into my neighbors pool when I was trying to fish my keys out of the same pocket my iPod was in. Flopped out before I could grab it, and while it seemed to work fine at first, I'm trying to turn it on now but to no avail...I've also gone through two phones in a similar fashion. One was in my pocket when my brother threw me into the pool, and the other I left outside on a bench only to return and find it during the rain. By the by, anyone know if there's a way to resurrect the Nano?

None of my electronics have died via water. But a number of my brother's possessions have had "accidents" including bottles of water while he was away.

My RAZR & my ROKR when I was on a trampoline I left them out in the rain, but surprisingly not my IpHONE 3g when I was swinging over a stream & landed on the side & fell in for a nice little swim while it was on.

My cell phone spent a couple of hours chillin' in a puddle at the bottom of a canoe. I never even noticed. But somehow, miraculously, it survived... which probably had a lot to do with the bag of rice I stuck it in as soon as I got home.

I dropped my phone in a bucket while washing a car. I took it out, to text someone, and that someone rang me, it made me jump and i dropped it in the bucket.

I have never had a handheld break due to water, but I put my original gameboy advance in the toaster out of curiosity. Not only did I need a new gameboy, but a new toaster as well. My wii also survived being struck by lightning (sort of).

My keyboard had a nice drink.

I held a cup of milk above my keyboard while watching a horror game Let's play, I filched and all of the contents went onto the keyboard...

Nothing of mine has ever met that fate but my brother jumped into a hottub with his jeanshorts still on and his phone was in his pocket still.

Closest I have is a book that took a swim in the ocean when my father got tired of me caring more about reading than fishing. Thankfully, my mother replaced the book.

GBA, though technically, it wasn't a grave. I got my sister addicted to Golden Sun, so she was playing it while answering the call of nature and dropped it in on accident. She and Mom cleaned it up the best they could. When I used it next, I asked Mom why some of the buttons stopped working and while the sound was all funky and she claimed she didn't know. Eventually the buttons fixed themselves somehow, though the sound was never the same. I didn't even find out about all this until after I bought an NDS and decided to give away my GBA. And my sister is the OLDER sister. She's supposed to be setting a good example, that lying little...

A while ago I got caught in a deluge and my phone was in my pocket. When I first tried to use it, it didn't work at all. One button would do its function, but also the function of another button which obviously fucked me over. Took the battery out and let it dry at night though and now it functions properly, but the battery life is non existent. Tried switching out the battery to no avail. I'm assuming my phone just can't efficiently use the power anymore because the water affected whatever transfers the power from the battery to the phone. Also the service works on and off even in the city where I live, and out of the city it is extremely spotty and rarely even works fully. Still works but it's painful :/

Hmmm, ive spilled soda on my keyboard and I have dropped 2 cell phones into water, and went swimming with a calculator watch, but none of these things have ever broken. I simply have to assume I am a god who brings electronics back to life.

I was laying on a couch playing a game when I shifted to grab my ice water. As I shifted, my cellphone dropped ALL the way into said ice water.

My iPod Touch went through the wash... accidentally left it in my pocket, so I guess I only had myself to blame at the time. Then I got a new one a few weeks later :D

I still use my iPod every day :)

Back in the day, my Pokemon Silver went through the wash and somehow survived. Then it went through the wash a second time and, despite half the label peeling off and the insides rattling around when you shook it, it still worked. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago and, while rummaging around a few old boxes, I found it again. I tried it out and it still works.

My old N64 Goldeneye cart also had a run-in with a liquid; my friend spilt pop on it a long time ago. Although it still worked back in the day after restarting the system a few times, I tried it out a few years ago and it doesn't work anymore.

Back in the 80s I spent $20 for a fancy FM Radio Watch. Never even got to use it, fell right off the shelf into the toilet. Unsalvagable. Of course now they have cellphone computer watches, so.

I've not lost any electronics to liquid death. However, I did once accidentally drop one of my FF8 discs into a bucket of vomit. It survived, but I'm guessing it was probably traumatized from then on.
