Back in the days of Game Boy's(tm) I had a copy of Zelda a link to the past. It went in the washing machine...

I don't know how but it still runs...

Thats the closest thing I think I've had.

STill I've had friends drop phones in toilets. SO KEEP THE LID DOWN :)

Fun story.

Used a phone while on the shitter/dump station/Kidderminster I was using the phone for some reason and it fell in (I was a youngin'). And the bowl was full. Oh dear.

Now here's the fun part: it survived.

Here's the best part: my family and I use it to this day.

My shuffle went through the wash and survived with no ill effects. I wouldn't make that same bet with something with a screen though, so pretty much anything above the shuffle.

The only thing I remember losing to water was my sneaky bluetooth earpiece. I manged to miss it in the pocket of my pants before doing laundry. I also left a DS game in a pocket once, but that survived the wash cycle.

How many times has this happened to you, and do you have any fancy stories to go along with it?

My new iPod Nano just took a dive into my neighbors pool when I was trying to fish my keys out of the same pocket my iPod was in. Flopped out before I could grab it, and while it seemed to work fine at first, I'm trying to turn it on now but to no avail...I've also gone through two phones in a similar fashion. One was in my pocket when my brother threw me into the pool, and the other I left outside on a bench only to return and find it during the rain. By the by, anyone know if there's a way to resurrect the Nano?
My Ipod nano went in the washer and when I realized it I used a hair dryer and dried it at the charging area probably not the smartest thing to do but it worked

My Ipod Nano survived the washing machine twice. Unfortunately, the third time was the charm and it never worked afterwards.

...It will be missed.

Not a single piece of electronic hardware has ever given out on me so far.
Not a single watch, TV, iPod, cellphone, PSP, GPU, CPU, etc.
Not even any of my HDDs have ever broken either.
Well, I used to have a moped that broke down every so often.
Some lovetaps and a few harsh words usually fixed it.
I always fought with it, but it never broke down completely.

My xbox 360 got hit with not just water but raw sewage when my basement flooded. So, it not only was ruined but it also smelled like poo.

Went to the beach one day. Thought I took my phone out of my pocket, but apparently I did not. Ran into the water with it still in my pocket and didn't realize for 5 minutes or so. When I finally did notice, I flipped out a little. Pulled it out of my pocket and it was still on... still working. Ran back onto shore and it stopped. T'was a sad day then, but getting a new phone was nice lol. The battery won't charge and the screen is broken, but if I plugged it into the wall, I believe I could still make calls with it if I wanted to. Such a trooper.

Other then that though, the only thing that's seen water is my iPod Touch earbuds. They went through the laundry at LEAST 4 times minimum, and yet they still work just fine. Forgot them in my shorts and didn't discover them again for a couple months. Some of the white paint is missing a bit, but other then that they may as well be new.

My Tamagotchi met a watery grave when I fell into a small pond with it around my neck. It was a truly awful experience. Stupid rickety old fence.

The only electronic device I have ever had get the water death was my underwater camera... I was going diving and decided to switch lenses, in the midst of the change my $700 camera went for a dive, down about 40 meters of salt water. Meanwhile my Droid has been swimming with me twice now with no ill effects (though I turn my phone off when I go out into the gulf and when it gets wet I wait 2 days to turn it back on)

I had my mom's cell phone in my pocket because I didn't own one at the time. So I'm at a pier one day and I take my shoes & socks off and that wood the pier was made out of was blazing. I immediately jumped in the murky, brown water with the cell phone in my pocket. My mom was pissed about it. In fact recently she put her blackberry into the trash and it got wet. I don't think I have ever gotten my own electronics wet though.
