Been interested in this game but lacked the PC to play it. Now in a few months I will and I look forward to it.

Hmm. Can you attach a keyboard to an xbone? You'll be sorely lacking for buttons considering there are like 20 different keys you might need.

I thought that as well, but then I watched some guy on YouTube saying how he was using an Xbox controller and the only problem he had was occasional rolling problems. I'll post a link below incase you are interested.

OT: After seeing this I was interested so I watch a few dev and gameplay videos and now I can say I am super Hyped already. Along with this and Wasteland 2 my Xbox is going to see some serious gaming.

Yeah it'll need some sort of modification to controls. An xbox controller is good to play on the PC and supported but there's probably five or six functions you still need a keyboard on your lap for. Hopefully an improved control system for xbox controllers will also be added to the PC version as an optional conrtrol system.

I just had a horrifying thought.

What if instead of changing shit wit the controller, Elite Dangerous went full Kinekt?

If I've implanted a nightmare in your head, I'm so sorry.

I have seen some footage, so far it looks amazing on the XBone. Microsoft thinks they can even squeeze 1080P and 60 FPS out of it, amazing.

Kidding aside that is great though, PC first, console second is how all games should be developed. Wider audience for the devs, sure with some it's just not possible, hardware limitations are going to hit a wall pretty fast this 8th and final generation of consoles.

Want this game so badly but ugh...without a credit card and with no boxed version it's a pain.

If it worked, and you didn't have to stand while doing it, that would be pretty impressive, but that's a very big IF.

I use voice commands on my pc for this game so they could for sure implement a working control system if they combined voice commands with the xbox controller. I prefer using mouse and keyboard for this game but I have tried a controller and there were only a few buttons I didn't bind that work perfectly for voice commands like deploying landing gear and opening your cargo scoop.

If it means more money for frontier its a good thing. The more funding they have the easier it will be to implement all the amazing things they want to do with this game. What I really want is cross server action but that probably will not happen.

It's coming for the PS4 as well. XBox is getting it as a 'timed exclusive'.

Let's hope they at least finish the PC version before porting it. Otherwise it's going to be a lot longer before we have a full game.

I've been playing it for a month now on PC using a standard plug-in 360 controller (that originally came with my console). There are only 2 commands that I currently use my keyboard for. The first is J for dropping out of Frameshift drive and the second is L for lowering and retracting your landing gear. Apart from that it controls like an absolute dream with this controller and I've heard people on the forums say the same of the xbone controller too. I've been taking down Cobra's controlled by people with flightsticks in my Sidewinder (admittedly heavily upgraded Sidewinder) with this controller.

Of course using this doesn't actually change the fact that the game is HARD AS NAILS TO LEARN!!!! Took me a week of watching tutorials and youtube vids just to learn how to fly in a straight line. But once you get the hang of the mechanics (like the aforementioned dropping out of Frameshift drive which is not as easy as it sounds without overshooting your destination) you'll never look back.

Give it time and patience and understand that this isn't a conventional game that plays by conventional gaming rules and the game itself is absolutely EPIC!! You're all in for a real treat!

i wonder what they will end up cutting to make it run on Xbox. Is it going to end up like Crysis where all that made Crysis unique was cut resulting in average shooter or are they going to do a better job than Crytek porting it.

Uhh... Does the Bone have triple display out ports? Forget it needing a K&M controller because the game already does well enough with a 360 controller. The game however needs quick access to peripheral screens. the game loses so much immersion when you try to condense it down onto one measly 1080i screen. Triple wide or die.
