I actually had the same situation with Final Fantasy, but now i´ve finsished 7 and 8.

My very first videogame was Wario Land 2. A great introduction for me, still a favotite :D
When i couldn´t manage a high jump, I turned the Game Boy up side down in order to increase my jumping height :D
After a bunch of succesful levels i confronted a snake boss, I hited him ones, which up to that point killed every enemy if you choose the right attack.
With no result, so I came to the conclusion that the snake is not meant to be killed...
Not to far fetched if you comsider that the snake wouldn´t kill you either but instead turned you into a egg. So i gave up and restarted the game because i couldn´t figure out the non existing puzzle.
I was so new to the concept of bosses :D
At my 10th birthdayparty a friend showed me the secret of monsters that need multiple hits...

Nothing new embarassing stuff though...playing everything on max difficulty available, that´s what growing up is all about!

During the high point of my Runescape addiction, I started seeing real life in really bad graphics, and kept on staring at trees wondering what level i would have to be to cut them.

.. I know, don't bother telling me how sad it is, I've heard it all already.

I've just remembered! I used to have a note pad with a daily plan of what i wanted to achieve and such in each day. Like, want X amount of logs this day and so on.

My god I was a cool 14 year old..
Same thing happened to me and I woke up one day to see my dad staring at me he said get up your late for school, I replied what level is you Construction. :(

I know almost everything there is to know about world of warcraft. I also have the knack to learn rpg mechanics in a matter of hours.

if the brain really have a maximum capacity, I feel this knowledge would be wasted. Maybe I shouldve memorized something more meaningful. like a dictionary.

I have a few.

I've only ever beaten one adventure game without looking up a guide to help me. In my entire life, just one... and technically I did look up a guide, but it told me to do something I already did that didn't work, which mysteriously worked right after I read the guide. Which didn't count! Please tell me it didn't count T.T I suck so much at braining. Curse you contrived videogame logic, curse you!

I think MGS3 is probably the best game ever made. That said, I've not yet finished the tutorial level because I can't figure out the controls. I give up in frustration when I have to look up the manual yet again because I don't know how to NOT accidentally fall off the bridge. I ended up crawling over it, like poor Snake has a crippling fear of heights, and that ruins it for me. I've watched other people play it though, so many creative things you can do. I'm most impressed by how the hunger bar turns into a stamana bar. Gasp! A game mechanic that's simple but effective?!

But undeniably the most embarrassing thing in my gaming career...

I hated Portal. I think it was a cheap "look at what I can do!" that you get for free when you buy a different game.
