I know this sounds retarded as hell, but try baking it in the oven! I'M SERIOUS!
Set it to 385 degrees, wait for it to preheat, and bake it for 10 minutes. Bull out your hard drive and what ever else you have plugged into the back of it... like one of those ridiculous wireless receivers.
Basically, this melts, and reforms the broken solder joints that have degraded over time due to the temperature extremes in the Xbox. The crappy solder they used was, in fact, the reason for Microsoft's billion dollar fiasco.
Anyway, I assume to responsibility if you screw up and kill you Xbox or burn down your house. If you still aren't sure(I know I wouldn't be), go search Youtube. There are at least a couple hundred videos proclaiming this fix.
