Emo Rant (not what you think)

Ranting about this sort of thing is sooooo emo...

Totally, gosh, I'm so bummed right now, I think I might go put on some black eye-liner, and some extremly tight black clothes and write poems about my feelings...

Get a grip emo kids. You are a part of a fashion trend, just as I was ten years ago when I was a raver, just like your parents were gen-x'ers, and just like their parents were hippies.

My point is this: enjoy your music and friends, just stop caring if other people are making fun of you. Yes, we are laughing at you, but guess what, our parents laughed at us, their parents laughed at them, and so on and so forth.

I think it's just amusing the way that it's bandied about as an insult. "Emo" is just like "Fag" in that regard, and I've heard them used more than once together.

Even more hilarious is having a chav come up to a bunch of metal heads and start calling them emos. This has happened to me before, and usually ends in bales of laughter, though has descended to punch ups in the past when the chav took things a little too far with one individual in our group.

I understand that the true roots of EMO culture lie in a specific type of music but that does not matter as there are a million overpriviledged kids around the world who think they are the only person who has ever had feelings about everything ever. And instead of getting on with life and finding a way to cope they get all self indulgent and whining about how noone feels the same feelings that they do.

It is a syndrome that almost exclusively affects overpriveledged teens who have no problems whatsoever.

So yeah true emo might mean something different but it doesn't mean that there aren't Emo scene kids in the world. (they need to go away)
